i remember finding it for pre painted reflectors. It should be in the packet with the manuals the dealer gives you. If not, i think i saw it on the side of the door. It doesnt say "color code" but its 3 digits. I knoe BLACK is 040....ill go to car and verify where its at. Either that or under the hood.

I just called MBUSA for the hell of it and as I was looking for it before too.

They say it is not listed on the vehicle anywhere.

I find that hard to beleive, but if you tell them the color they can give you the code.

Thanks for everyone's help. This forum is a wonderful resource. I glad it is not on the car because I looked everywhere and could not find it-I thought I had lost my mind completely. And yes the color is 345 (japisblau) orion blue- in my defense I got my coupe early (end of July) and I picked the color before I found this forum, therefore, in my mind everyone else copied me.

doh! fred, i told you not to tell me if its japisblau!
todd, i looked inside the driver's door and the 3 digit code is right there but its not labeled as the color code so unless you know, it just looks like an arbitrary number. i don't think MBUSA staff is trained all that well

oops, sorry should be japISblau (i think it means Jasper Blue)...

japsiblau? after all i've heard about the magical, mysterious, even legendary "orion blue" it's actually called japsiblau! Too funny,

Got a call from my dealer today, get my BLACK C230K wednesday afternoon:p :p :p

tommy, i know you have to have some reponse to this most distressing renaming of your beloved color.

See Garage
Hey, tommy, my "gold" car is no longer "Desert Silver." It's "Travertin Beige Mica."

Last time I looked up at Orion, it was pitch black. Not a stitch of Blue anywhere!

Ya, Young, that makes sense.

Gary, I for one knew it was called Jasper Blue, en Engles, a long time ago.

Before C7 and such were even available on US MB sites, I had found the options on European ones.

Ordered them before my dealer even knew they were available.

A rose by any other name......

In defense of orion blue-the lineage is impeccable
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Orion, the Hunter
Neptune was Orion's father and the great huntress Queen Euryale of the Amazons was his mother. Orion inherited her talent, and became the greatest hunter in the world.
"Orion was able to walk on water and had greater strength and stature than any other mortal. A skilled blacksmith, he fabricated a subterranean palace for Vulcan. He also walled in the coasts of Sicily against the encroaching sea and built a temple to the gods there" .

with thanks to Cathy Bell (cmbell@alumni.princeton.edu) for CLA 212.
