hello,
i have a european spec w209 MY2006 with a thermatic unit...
recently i got a thermotronic from ebay and as far as i remember part number was A203xxxxxx etc...i think its the same in w203 and w209 cars...
but unfortunately it was not working (blowing hot air at one direction)
do you know anything new on this install??
what do i have to do to get it working? do i have to change something? do i have to keep on searching for the "one" and "only" thermotronic unit for my car?
thanks a lot

Please share information. I am planning a few modifications to my interior and car this spring and this is one of them. I know I will need it coded after install but I purchased a HVAC controller in hopes it would work - When I mean work I mean do all of the same features my "manual" control did - I want NONE of the "automatic" controls or the charcoal filter, I only want to add REST for winter use.
I bought A203-830-19-85...But there at least three numbers that I know of...all having to do with (I am hoping) REST and logo layout.
Thanks,
Jake
(I do not want to damage any of my HVAC components, the PWM motors, the heater valves or the fan - I want to gain no feature but REST and I will be completely happy if I can get the interior design aesthetic to be more unified...Thanks)

Using info from this thread I just the digital climate control upgrade on my 05 ss 6spd. I used 2038304485, it's a part number that is not even listed on here. I found it by locating the number from one of the few 2007 C230's that came with it as an option. I was worried about the A/C on off button but it works just as it should. Look around and you can find these used cheap ($75). The CLK's from 07-09 have this in it as well. My car was plug and play with no programming. Might have gotten lucky but so happy with the results.

C180 Coupe (2005) Sport Edition
I've just done an upgrade on mine my C180k CL203 2005 (facelift). I'm guessing I was just lucky because it was just a plug and play job with no programming required. Makes such a difference to the look of the car tho. Makes me wonder why the cars shipped wight e silly analogue controls in the first place.

I have w203 2006 restyle.
hi everyone. Sorry for my English. I have a question. I have w203 2006 restyle from US. Can I change my block climat on w209 digital A2038303385? I understand new functions will not work. Will old functions work?

The answer is "maybe," The challenge you face is that there are several different part numbers for the digital climate controls. Some may not work on your specific year and model.
I recently installed one on my 2005 C230. See post 46 on this link: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...revival-2.html The part number of the unit I used is A203 830 44 85.
In my case, all of the old functions worked fine, but none of the new functions did. The cars that weren't equipped with the climatronic units don't have all the components needed to support the new functions.
Good luck with you project.

See POST #57.
There is clear WIS VIN specific info on, particularly the A/C and A/C[off] Button.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...ew-mods-3.html
Also - if you do this - take the time to add the SOLAR and MULTI-FUNCTION Sensors...then remove the DEW POINT Sensor.

If yours powers up and can "normalize" to the best of it's ability (Press FRONT DEFROST and RECIRCULATE) by having the LEDs flash during normalization and then stop after completion - you will be "as good to go" as you can be.
You will NOT;
have full function without the above mentioned Sun and Multi function Senors - it will (possibly) internally compensate with the OEM dewpoint sensor.
be able to adjust the right side airflow (you will still only have 6 of the needed FULL Climatronic 10 motors) with the rotary knob.
be able to use the active charcoal filter - you still won't have it.
WHEN it normalizes - you will have temp control and all other "basic" functions using the left side rotary knob for air directing, at least, that seems my case...I just set it to AUTO and let it do it's thing!

I would read this;

as well as look for document AN83.75-P-0001PD if you’re interested in retrofitting Residual Engine Heat Utilization System...or [REST]
