Those projectors sold by ebay were good deals. Except that they were made by DEPO, not mercedes OEM parts. I try searching DEPO in a search engine and didn't find anything about the website, except some stores that sell DEPO headlights (none of them sells W203 headlights btw). Maybe autodynamicsdotcom might have it since they sell E-class DEPO headlights.

...interesting...

he offers replica headlights and shows original mercedes headlights in his ebay auktion...makes me wonder wether the replica ones are of a too poor quality to show...and guess where he ripped the bi xenon headlight picture off rom...

ebay auktion
personally I think that 800USD + 55USD shipping is a fair bit for replica halogen headlights...

i e-mailed the eBay seller,

best to just get the real deal with a warranty from steve. those things will fog up and collect water if they are BiX which were raped for parts.

you can't go wrong with Steve.

it's better to pay the price once, than end up paying half-price 3 or 4 times !

You might want to STFF about Steve's warranty service, shipping, installation, sponsoring this forum, providing help, etc., can all be considered business expenses. And as we are in a capitalistic world a reasonable profit can easily be justified.

Your own location also gives you an advantage as many other members do not have the easy access to his services or those that support him like scorchie. And yes, it is population conditioned; just check with members in the middle of the US and the drives, expenses they have to undertake in addition to the product purchases. Just food for thought.

service and products from steve are great. he has a great warranty for 1yr and in some cases you r dealer might be able to warrant items. my COMAND was replaced by the dealer when the screen was going out. no quesitons asked. depends on your dealer and SA, this is rare but is possible.

if aftermarket costs 800 and u don't even know the quality of it, i'd rather pay extra few hundred, get it from steve and be safe. if an item on eBay costs close to $1k range, i won't take a risk and buy it unless the seller is MBenzNL!

You could see in some of the pictures, that there is a DEPO brand just below the projector eye.So, this is the DEPO headlight not OEM headlight.
I have to agree that the quality is unsure thing. With the cost of 850 and xenon kit (probably around 250), it is much better to order OEM unit.

PS: If you've been around W210 forums, many users use DEPO headlights

true,
but that's a different eBay seller, and different auction than that what was originally talked about, in which the seller in that case was using MBenzNL bi-xenon headlight pictures, and passing them off as the DEPO product.

I might be selling my set since I might be getting a new set of rims. The part numbers that I have are 203 820 4161 and 203 820 4261 with all bulbs, ballasts, etc. Let me know if you are interested and will send you pics (haven't taken any yet).

The deal on DEPO

Just a note to you guys... Depo is a reputable OEM replica company. Instead of paying hundreds more for Bosche quality headlights and clear corners for my w201 I went with DEPO and I haven't had any issues and am pleased with them. But the difference between Bosche and DEPO in price was about $230 vrs $500-700. If budget is important to you I wouldn't hesitate to go DEPO. However the markup is high on replica w203 I find.

I ask someone dealing with DEPO headlights before, and he said this is probably new items and that's why the price are so high. Maybe if we wait, when the items are many in the markets, the price will be much more competitive.

yea, when i had my jetta i got depo headlamps (blacked out ones) they were replica e-code headlamps and they worked great and looked great. cost less then $300 new for the set.

I got my Bi-X from steve, and would not get those depo bi-X style lights. if you think about it for the price steve charges for OEM, you would buy those lights, then spend like $300 on an HID kit, thats the same price as the OEM! makes no sence.

plus as stated above if you ever have a problem with them, some dealers may fix it for free, my SA has seen my car 2 times before i got my lights, i showed up with the Bi-X installed and he didnt even notice they did not come with the car. he said "good choice with the lighting package"

I went with DEPO clear corners and modern looking euro head lights for my W201. Perfect match, excellent look... HUGE upgrade over the stock. 2 years later I have NO COMPLAINTS.
