I think those strips are to prevent water and dirt going into your door. I would ask them to wrap the strip with moleskin and put them back on. Thats what I did to my car and I dont have any scratches ever since.

The tinters should have to put them back. That's irresponsible if they just took it out and threw it in the trunk.

If you leave them out, water might end up in your doors and maybe short out some circuits or corrode some metal parts on the inside.

so i just spoke to this guy at the ARTOFTINT this upscale tinting place in nyc and told him what the tinters did... he is like u got to get those peices back in asap. He also told me something interesting... instead of using moleskin fabric he said go to staples and buy velcrow use the soft part of it and velcrow it on to those peaces that they removed.. anyone can do this u just have to remove the peace

Well, if you are an adventurer, you may try this velcrow thing. But moleskin is something has PROVEN to have solved the problem. Its your choice!

Hmmm... I looked at that piece when I was having my car tinted, and it looked just like the soft end of velcro pads too. I don't know what moleskin looks like so I didn't question it then.

I've been traumatized by dark tints in the front windows. Been stopped too many times to want to try it again.

lmao are u serious damnn lol

what about the rear visibility?

also i was thinking about doing limo (100%) in the back windows and 35% (65% visiblity) iin the front windows. most of my friends have this, but i think it looks stupid doing limo in the back and then hardly doing the front. dunno , what u think i should do? leave alone? do 35 all around?

this tint is 35% all around including a front strip, but it looks very dark. i have not been pulled over ever, i dont even have a front license plate which is required by law in Maryland, i think the cops must like the car, i come home from work and drive next to cruisers some times, never had a problem.

I also have full limo tint. Must be floridians love it, and I never got pulled over.

The cops down here do not bother about it much.

tint places in or around LA

I've had my windows tinted for quite some time now.....long before I was on this forum so needless to say, they are seriously scratched. It's really starting to bug me so I want to have it fixed. Does anyone know of a place in or around the LA area who knows how to tint the C230 correctly, fixing the scratching problem?

I went there and paid almost $300. The job wasn't all that good. They scratched my car when they were sitting on their stool tinting. The chair rubbed up against the side.

Also judging by the bubblesh still left in the rear window tint, it's nothing exceptional.
