Tinted Windows W203 Thread - All You want to know about window tinting a C Class
My tint guy didn't have to do that for mine =/
I've had my tints for about.... 2 months now?
I get lines from dirt outside the window, but once I clean it, it's clear as... 35% front, and 20% rear. Lol.
Great dude.
So I have...
3M Non-Metallized 35% fronts and 20% all rears.
The guy put them all the way up to the top, and it's beautiful.
I'll post pictures as soon as I get a better camera, or a photoshoot sometime in the summer with friends.
I'd have to say I'm pretty satisfied so far.
I had them done in San Bruno, and I'm in the SF area. But it's only a 20 minute drive.
Let me know if you'd like them done, I can recommend the guy that did mine
He makes you sign a waiver for the front tints though. It's only right, as he won't cover it, because it's illegal
The scratches take some time to form. I would MOST DEFINITELY buy the Tint Protector kit NOW. Once the scratches start to show it's too late and there's no going back. Your tint is ruined.
I don't know of anyone with a C class and tint that doesn't have crazy streaks that look just like the picture above. Trust me, you will regret the decision not to put the kit on.

If you did, was the tint shop able to do it or was it a DIY? Also has the tint lasted on?
I am planning on tinting my windows and would like to tint the small one.
Thanks for any help
Here's what one website had to say:
" Answer.
Waiting on our legal department for the correct terminology of the bills. So this might be pre-mature, and unfortunately lengthy. Here is my understanding of the bill(s) This gets tricky because when you look up this bill, the original language is not necessarily the language that will become law, because there have been amendments (new language) put forth which deletes the original language. (Does that make sense?) So reading the bills and the admendments that have been passed, these two bills do two separate things.
HB 4327 does not impact HB 3325; however, it expands the legal responsibility to include the professionals who illegally alter or tint windows. Under HB 4327, they can be charged with the same offense as those who drive illegally altered or tinted windows.
HB 3325 as amended deals specifically with the tinting levels on a vehicle. It states that a person may drive a motor vehicle with a nonreflective material tinted film that does not allow less than 50% light transmittance (or less than 35% light transmittance if the windows to the rear of the driver already have certain window treatment applied) upon the side windows immediately adjacent to each side of the driver. Deletes a front windshield exemption for persons afflicted with or suffering from a medical illness, ailment, or disease. Deletes an exemption to certain window obstruction provisions for motor vehicles manufactured prior to January 1, 1982. Provides that is a petty offense and a Class C misdemeanor for a second offense for an installer to install window treatment on motor vehicles that do not have specified license plates or stickers.
As you see....these bill are different and do not effect one another."

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
gotta a question.... if you had a choice between these 3 tint materials what would you choose and why? I have 3 places i'm thinking of going all pretty reputable but i'm torn on which tint material is the best overtime.
1) Suntek CARBON
2) Madico ONYX
3) 3M
Thanks!!!
I just hate the little plastic piece on the rear passenger windows (the ones that don't roll down).
Is it possible to take off that little plastic piece? so you can have a all black?

Mercedes C Class Kit:
Sedan & Coupe
1 kit will do all windows.
Kit will fit all 2002-2007 C class Sedans
anyone know if this is true or not?
Simple question, I have a 2007 c280. Do I need this moleskin kit? This is the first I'm hearing about it after calling about a dozen shops looking for quotes. No one has mentioned his.
Thought?
Moleskin kit ordered.
While the moleskin kit is on its way is it safety to have the windows tinted and leave them up? Will putting them down that one time to install the kit cause these scratches?

The secret to the felt is the strong adhesive. I used cheep crap moleskin once and it didn't go well.
Just install the felt kit they offer and it won't happen again. My C32 went for over 3 years with the tint protector felt with no problems and no scratches before I sold it.
