You guys might want to call them, they told me they would order today and ship tomorrow.
I would assume they will run the card today too.

You spoke with a human being? I have never gotten past the voice mail system. What did they say about the delay?

After reading this thread I finally ordered a new 07 key for my 06 SLK55 from oempartsdirect.com ($61.41 Shipped). Within 5 minutes of placing the order, I received an email requesting proof of ownership etc. I immediately faxed it off and a short time after I received another email indicating that the key was ordered today and will ship by Fedex tomorrow. So far, I'm very impressed with their service. I've been bugging my dealer here in Toronto for a price on the 07 key but they keep insisting that it will not work on pre-07 vehicles. I called my dealer today for a quote on the actual part number I got from this thread. I was quoted $199.50 for the remote and $49 for the key. The parts guy then added ... I can order it if you want, but it wont work with your car. Bunch of thieves ! It just amazes me how little the dealers know about the cars they sell !

Quote: Sorry. Yes, that was a typo. The main site was up. It was the Trademotion server that has been giving me fits. It seems to be back up and offering all the regular links. Now, if I could just get that damned key shipped. They still haven't even charged my card yet.
When did you order it?

I noticed a problem, when I ordered my key they were unable to charge my card, however the only way I knew this was by logging into the parts website and clicking on order status. there is a messaging (contact us) area but the note about the payment was underneath the order status, I had to scroll down the page to see it. Depsite having my email address & tel no they simply added a note onto the order status regarding the payment.

The other issue is that they now appear to have started asking for proof of ID & ownership / title (although to be honest that's a relief!!!)

Good luck!

I ordered my key on the 29th of December and still haven't received anything. I just emailed them, but have most of you recieved your key from 10 days of the day you ordered or 10 days from when they sent you shipment confirmation? I hate waiting for mail...

Well, unlike Chrislk55, my experience had been slow and frustarating. I have had to be proactive every step (based knowledge found in this thread) by emailing and offering my Proof of ownership before Jamie asked, reminding Jamie that the order is still out there, etc.

I, too, am glad that they are requiring the proof. I just wish he had given me the service that Chrislk55 received. Anyway, it was ordered on the 30th of December and I just received an email today that the Key was shipping tomorrow, via UPS.

Any idea if the new key will work on a W208? Wife's got one and I know she'd be tickled pink to get one.

Just to let everyone know... Jamie at oemparts is legit.

My scenario is similar to everyone elses; I placed my order online on Jan 4 and the next day I got an email from Jamie requiring me to fax in proof of ownership. I immediately faxed my info to him; but after that I did not hear anything from them again. My order status online actually said 'Cancelled' and nothing was charged on my CC. Since then I have emailed and called a couple times but never got any response. Today, after a couple tries I was again getting the voicemail; then on the third try I nearly went into shock when Jamie actually answered. Very nice guy... I was told my order was already shipped and he even gave me a UPS tracking # (ETA Jan 17).

So rest easy everyone... if you have placed an order and already faxed in your proof of ownership you should be okay. In speaking with Jamie, he did mentioned policy now requires proof of ownership before a key can be ordered from MB due to possible illegal use (duh). He also mentioned there are about 10 orders that are still outstanding because no proof of ownership was faxed to him for those. Hope everyone's order here made it through. Good luck.

Here is his fax number 540-777-3034; it is the same fax number that is posted on their website. Make sure you reference your order # on it. Good luck.

didn't think they actually picked up the phones. At least have a reply email informing us that the fax with our info was received.

Jamie does seem to be legit, I guess. This morning he sent me an email saying the key was shipped and to refer to the tracking #. Of cource, there is no tracking # listed on the email or the "messages" section of his site or the order itself. I figure I'll cut him some slack and let it be for a while. If I don't see the package in a reasonable time, I'll bug him for the # then.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I sent a stern email to Jamie yesterday afternoon and recieved a response this morning.

"Elliott, I do not know what happened to your order. My shipping guy
said that he sent it out, but I see that the order is still open in my
computer. I do not see the keys here, so I have ordered another set, and will ship them out UPS next day air on monday. I apologize for the delay and the confusion.
Jamie"

They are quite legit. But once again they didn't ask me for proof of ownership. I guess its because I ordered it on the 29th. Oh well, I'm pleased with their customer service.

UPDATE: I just spoke with Jamie! If you want to get a hold of him, call the number (1-866-293-1864) and press "0" when it goes to his voicemail. When the operator picks up, ask for parts. He answered after a few rings when I called, but since I assume he's not the only one working in parts you migh have to ask for him. Hopefully they don't transfer you to his voicemail because we all know he doesn't call back. He was able to confirm my order and give me shipping details. He's probably going to get bombarded with phone calls now, but he deserves it after having such sh*tty communication.

Hey All, decided to look into whoelse is on the parts.com network and I found Duval Motor Cars http://www.duvalmotorcars.com/en_US/ and they have the key at $44.25 plus $7 shipping ground (I ordered a few other items and my shipping came out to $9.71) so just to order the key on its own thats $51.25.

Just placed the order so i'll keep you all updated as to how the processing goes!
