the orginal key cost me 130ish when i purchased an extra one a few years back.... 60 bucks includes shipping the IR key and the blade....

recieved my key today...
-ordered the 26th dec....
-recieved email that key was to be shipped on jan 3
-called jamie on the 12th because i had no key 1 week later...
-he called me back later that day saying the couldnt find my VIN.....he said he would order the key on monday jan 15 with my VIN and would have the key next day aired to me on tuesday jan 16
and its in.... just like another member said... it come UPS in a FEDex box

Hey All, decided to look into whoelse is on the parts.com network and I found Duval Motor Cars http://www.duvalmotorcars.com/en_US/ and they have the key at $44.25 plus $7 shipping ground (I ordered a few other items and my shipping came out to $9.71) so just to order the key on its own thats $51.25.
Just placed the order so i'll keep you all updated as to how the processing goes!

Make sure you order the blade as well as the key, since the old blade won't work in the new key. Seems like the guys getting the quotes under $50 are just for the key without the blade.

you have to point the snout of the key (the ir transmitter) at the doorhandle, you'll see an IR receiver (a small black box) on the doorhandle. press and hold the lock or unlock button until the windows start moving. it takes a few seconds to initialize so hang tight.

actually with the bmw you only have to insert the key to put the windows up but to put them down you also hold the unlock button. good thing about the bmw is you don't have to aim it at the door but then again the bmw key isn't as pretty as this one

ok, so I tried it with my M3 and it doesn't work... perhaps it's just on BMW models.
hahaha.. not just had to DISPLAY my key. allowing others to know I received mine already
