Don't see you color

If you don't see your color just write it in. Sorry it would only accept 10 choices. I can change them later if there is one color no one has.

I added my vote for Capri Blue (C240). But, different colors may be more popular on C230 vs. the other C's, for example, Orion. I think only David N. has an Orion sedan, while several have Orion coupes.

Orion blue will not be popular for the sedans, because it is a special order for them. And speaking of special orders, you left Citron Green and Amethyst out of the poll. There is an Amethyst car in St. Louis.

I've got a C230K in Orion on order, so subtract 1 from that count if you only want delivered cars.

2002 C230 K
Might be interesting if we could cross-reference color choice with model - although I'm sure this would require setting up a bunch of different polls. My guess is that the majority of the silver/black cars will be C32s and a few coupes - while most of the Orions will be coupes (since there is an extra charge for this color on the sedans) - with more of the original color choices on the sedans.

My car (when it eventually arrives) will be a brilliant silver C230K. Which I chose since I have always been a big fan of Mercedes racing (a silberner Pfeil has to be silver, right?).

Cheers, BT

Hmmm...a look at the color distribution indicates that Silver is twice as popular as that blue color. Wonder what contributed to the impression that it is the most popular color, completely missing the accurate fact that siver is more popular. Perhaps those who order the hard to miss blue type are not only more flashy in their car choice of color, but also more flashy on posts, creating that impression. Might be that the silver owners choose a more sedate color which also reflects their demeanor a bit.

I just remembered reading something interesting recently. Since Mercedes has re-entered serious racing the sales of silver cars has gone way up. Indicating to the head honchos that the racing has been a successful endeavor for MB.

If by sedate, you mean boring, then I'd have to agree with you. :p

Actually, I read that silver just passed white this past year as the most popular new car color. I'd believe it; they're everywhere, especially in German marques.

RE SILVER ----- "If by sedate, you mean boring, then I'd have to agree with you."

IMO, Orion blue looks like more like a Chevy Camaro or Cavalier color...but to each his own... :p

Bagwell, I was kidding. Note :p :p :p :p :p :p s?

And, I think that silver is a color on most Chevys, no? But, you're right - so far, I can compare Orion pretty closely to a Cavalier, Geo Storm, RSX, and Civic Si. Though none of them change in different lighting situations the way my baby does.

See Garage
OK, whoever owns that ONE Paprika Coupe, I'd love to see some pictures of the car on the street.

Not as far out there as Citron, but more interesting than red, IMO.

Yeah, I'd like to see pics, too. That color's a little out there.

I wonder what the ccoupe would look like in Aspen Green. I'm betting pretty good.

C230 Sport Coupe
My dealership got a pa*****a c230 on the same shipment as my car. It's very... um, interesting. Although it's not nearly as interesting as figuring out how long someone is going to go out to the garage where they parked their Citron green C230 and say "Doh!"

Probably true, but sales of silver are up on ALL makes of car.

Color popularity is cyclical, I think its just silver's turn right now.

Talking

Hey, my Paprika C230 Coupe....sorry, no scanner so I can't post a photo. The current issue of Road & Track features a paprika C230. The color changes with ambient light conditions. Cloudy days looks like a rust/burnt orange color, at sunset looks like a burgundy red.
I've got C2, C7 with six speed and Bose. It's a great driver! And.....there aren't too many around that color!

silver just looks so damn good

On a Benz, this is such a classic color. I dont see many Porsches and Vettes in silver here. They are mostly black, red, yellow, and other stand out colors. I see silver on much larger S series Benz's as well and they look outstanding. The S55 is off the chart in that color. Black looks good (when its clean) but so many cars are black, including most limos. Not too many limos in silver. Im loving this color and I know it will be easy to keep clean.

Black

I chose black for my C230 because it blends so well with the glass sunroof and rear lower "window". This makes the car look more monochromatic - a look I really like. Plus it gives me $650 to spend on other options.

I can add to the debate about silver. I own a silver '96 Chevy Corsica, at least until i get my C230 (late Feb). My employer owns a silver 2000 911 Carrerra 4. Both have red interiors. The difference in 0-60 times is about 8 sec. The difference in price is about $90K. Silver is the popular color right now.

Don't know why, but a bunch (6) of us C32 owners got together the other day in Dallas. ALL were Brilliant Silver.
