Well if the information that he provided is correct than yes. I'm not quite sure, and I'd have to pull the pads out to look myself :-P. But like e1000 said the cross-drilled rotors is usually a dead give away for having four pistion calipers!

*EDIT* By the way, clean those freakin wheels!

The 05+ C230's have the same rotor size 13.6". My last C230, I was able to fit a C32/55 calipers using the existing rotors.

I just finished replacing pads and rotors this past weekend. There's only 1 pair on each side of the front for my car (which has the cross drilled rotors you guys are talking about).

2, - not 4 pistons. Basically there's a 2" diameter circle pushing the pad on either side of each caliper.

Hey n00b, you have a 2005. The other guy has a 2004.5 which does have 4 pistons. The 2005's and up (99% of them) have 2 piston calipers.

Take a look at the picture he posted, your brakes don't look like that.

also, the 4-piston calipers have 4 hex bolts visible on the caliper cover

for example, here is a pic of the 4-piston brakes that should be the same for the 2004.5 cars. (sorry I can't see the pic above from my office)

btw since we are on this topic...would it matter if i bought rotors for a single piston or 4 piston caliper system? i know when you order rotors it asks for single caliper or 4 piston caliper? just want to make sure there is a difference and try to save some $

I'm not exactly sure, but if I had to wager an educated guess... I'd say it matters because the maximum thickness/minimum thickness may differ. Maybe even over all width as in how much surface area for pads to scuff on.

rotor size is radically different from the single piston floating calipers and the 4-piston fixed calipers.

rotos sizes are even different between the 2005+ two piston fixed calipers and the 4-piston fixed calipers.

Yes these are most definitely the 4-piston fixed calipers.

Midnight Blue 2004.5 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. 2002 w210 E320, 2009 w211 E350 Sport
That's strange.

I have a 2004.5, but for some reason my brakes don't look the same.

Are cross-drilled rotors those holey things?

What does AMG mean?

DOES ANYBODY STFF ANYMORE?

Ordered new front rotors, front pads, and sensor for my girl's 05 C230 from Duval Motors in FL. Box weighed 50lbs. Was really surprised how heavy it was.

You're right. They don't. Very similar though. My mistake.

Man, in almost every thread you've been such an *** to me. What's up with that? In the beginning, I admired your car. But now I'm starting to hate the driver.

Go easy using that smash thing on nlpamg.

He is merely reminding those who may not already be aware that in spite of all of your posts, you have not yet proven yourself to be an expert on the marque. Do not spout information that is incorrect, however tempting your keyboard may be. Many have come before you and fallen by the wayside, or been disgraced in shame, from their insufferable naiveté.

Phil is a highly intelligent man. That he has earned our respect and is a mainstay at MBW events is incidental to this post. He doesn’t suffer neophytes lightly. All are welcome to participate here. Just be careful, and contribute only when appropriate to do so. Please take a breath or two before your next reply, or when contemplating starting another “by popular demand” thread.
