anyways, assuming the brake setup is standard dampened steel or whatever (just vented rotors)... if youre spending the money on a nice new set of ceramic pads.. why would you put them on glazed over rotors? just seems like a waste of money too me :P

SP Performance Rotors

I did a search and came up with nothing on these specific rotors.

I won a set of 4 Diamonnd Drilled, slotted, nickel plated rotors from a contest I was in with my last car. Has anyone used or heard of these. I am just wondering if they are worth putting on the car.

Thanks

The front brake pads were replaced this weekend. I got 113K miles off them and they didn't hit the wear sensor. The original factory pads were replaced with a fresh set of factory pads.

Simple C32/ 2004.5 C230 Caliper Clarifications

I've searched but have not found 100% adequate results. Here are my following questions:

- Are the C32 calipers the same as the 2004.5 calipers (exception of the AMG logo)?

- Will C32 disks work with the 2004.5 calipers?

Thanks in advance

Hmmm, I know the '04 Calipers are 4-piston, but not sure if they are the same as the C32...

Is @ Home
They are both 4 piston, the AMG ones would say Brembo on the back. Not sure on the 2004.5 ones. You can use rotors made for the C32 onto the 2004.5 C230.

So is the non-AMG caliper manufactured by Brembo as well?

yes. even the 05-07 sport front 2-piston are made by Brembos just not the rotors.

Too late...they're sold

According to him though, the C32 rotors do not fit with the 2004.5 calipers

it does. they use the same pads and same rotors.

if you want the 05+ sport brakes with the 2-piston vented combo. I got a set that's painted red still. u would need the front rotors and pads tho.

It's ok...I might even buy (1) C32 rotor just to test if no one else has a definitive answer , but I woud not want to have to resort to that.

2007 C230 sport
those Brake pads

Hot damn this topic has a lot of info, thanks for some much needed schooling on brake pads. The question I have is do I need to replace the rotors on a C230 sport 07 if a plan on just replacing the pads with Porterfield? Also how does the dealer/ local garage feel if the costumer comes in with there own brake pads?
Thanks
Jason
