lol me too. I took a lot of nice 'scenery' car pictures but I realized that I did not judge shadows in to play(as you can see in some of those pictures above)so I disposed of them. Sometimes I was like 'Why did I give up on my Sony Cybershot' Easy to use point and click

Nice camera...your photos will get better with every use.
Personally, I think Canon SLRs are better though....just my IMO.

Rebels are good camera for non-professional users. They are a lot lighter than the Nikon comparable. Coming from a regular Canon SLR...all my lenses were interchangable with the Rebel.

Regardless of whether you get a Canon or Nikon SLR though, both have a fast shutter to capture action shots without a delay. All the compact ones are just too slow....they are only good for still shots.

High end DSLR definitely. As far as entry level DSLR I think it's just a matter of personal choice. The kit lense on the D70 is MUCH better than the Rebel XT. The Rebel definitely has the 'cute' factor since it's so small too(I originally bought a Rebel). But to me the Nikon just FEELS better to shoot with

Rebel is an awesome deal. I've seen on e46fanatics that people got theirs for around 750 w/those Dell deals. But again it just feels 'toy-ish'.

YEAH I am! I just got smart and stopped buying GSM phones and parts for my car so I could save for my SLR! I've been wanting one for so long. Like NO_WURE said, the regular digi cams just don't cut it anymore.

btw, congrats on your camera....with a nice car > gotta have a nice camera!

ya, some people don't like the feel of the Canon entry level SLR. Because of it's lightness, opinions are sometimes viewed as being "toyish". However, just because one is more heavy than other doesn't make it any better. It's all about what feels comfortable as both camera take great shots compared to the compact ones. More flexibility too with zoom lenses and external flash capability.

D70 is a great camera.. it actually has better image than my D2.. if it just had the shutter speed for that price!
