No Obsidian Black, No 2006 c230 Purchase
Well, since they took away Obsidian Black, that pretty much seals the deal for me. No 2006 C230 Sports Sedan as I had planned. To be completely honest, it would have been a cheap fill-in anyway until I could afford the 2006 BMW 330i. The C230 Mercedes is an underpowered, and very cheap (as far as price and maybe quality) car. It's still a Mercedes, however, and I could have impressed some people by saying I own a Mercedes. The decision is made for me though. Congratulations MB another stupid decision to go along with the underpowered engine.

Believe it or not, most people do not buy the c230 for a race car. Mercedes offers the c230 to make the c class more affordable and gas conscientious.
Why come on here and tell us why you aren't getting a Mercedes? We new you weren’t when you came on here and every post is about how another car is faster than the c230.
Sorry that Mercedes could not build a good car like your '2000 Zinc Yellow Mercury Cougar Special Edition' that you drove. I love front wheel drive !

1st, MB still has 2 blak colors (040 black, 768 metallic black)
2nd, there is no reason to say how c230 cheap compered to 330
if you cant afford ( your own words) 330 .
it looks like another 230 vs "something" tread.

The only problem I saw with all bmws is that the backseats are ridiculously small. Did they remedy that problem with this new 3-series? And I don't really like the interior as much as the mercedes =)
Good luck with your car though. Its what *you* drive every day, not what everyone on the board drives. So, do whatever makes you happy, and I wouldn't come to a mb board looking to justify your decision.

Did someone say underpowered? Isn't it BMW that sells 1.2 liter cars in Turkey?
Mercedes usually puts it's larger engines in the rank and file cars for the NAFTRA market. Other parts of the globe seem to relish smaller power plants. A friend in Korea takes me to lunch in his S240, something you won't see in the Americas.
The BMW does look nice, but so do jelly beans.

Someone who wants a sporty car buys a BMW. If you want a comfortable car, you get a Lexus. If you want a balance between the two, and just those two, you get a Mercedes.
