Question C230 Coupe Trunk Net

I ordered and received a trunk net when I picked up my coupe in late June. Does anyone know if they make a separate net for the C coupe as opposed to the C sedan? This net apparently refers to contact points that don't exist in the hatch. Also, it seems too big. Anybody out there have a net for their C230K? Thanks!

Are you referring to the floor net or the sill net? When I installed my floor net, I had to raise the mat to find two of the D-rings. Then I had to insert them through the pre-cut slits in the mat.

the same still applies. you insert the top loops of elastic around the hooks that you should've installed before all of this... they replace the top two plastic rivets in the trim. the bottom two hooks of the sill net attach to the two silver D-rings on the floor. mine were hidden by the carpet; look closely and you'll see tiny little slits though which to push the D-rings. the rings are there, I promise.

however, i've now been through two sill cargo nets and both have broken loose from the plastic hooks (the elastic came out), and that's without stressing them with much more than 1-2 small bags of groceries and light driving. those things are such a horrible design. i don't think i'm going to replace this second (broken) one.

The sill net should have come with a couple of black plastic hooks or rings. Locate the two plastic buttons which hold the trim to the sill. Remove the buttons and replace with the plastic hooks. Push them in. They do not screw in. I spent a lot of time trying to get them started into nonexistant threads in the sill. Did MB forget to put the hooks and instructions in the package? I wouldn't be surprised.

What do you folks typically use these nets for? To hold grocery bags?

The floor net is used to secure small items removed from the cabin when I have passengers. These items include an umbrella, a book or two, in winter an ice scrapper, etc. The sill net almost always just holds a bottle of Zaino Z-6 quick detailer and a couple of micro fiber cloths for cleaning up bird droppings, tree sap, and bug splats.

Thanks to all who replied. I probably won't be using the net as it requires the use of the floor "D" rings. I've placed a Weather Tech cargo liner in my hatch which covers them. I'm not about to put slits in the liner as that would defeat the purpose of having it.
