the 2005 models come with a 7pin taillight connector...the pre 2005s have a 6pin taillight connector...these aftermarket LED taillights are manufactured for the pre 2005s.

on the 2005s the car uses both bottom bulbs for illumination...on the pre 2005s it only uses the outer bulb for illumination (although I think I saw some pre 03s that used 2 bulbs for illumination per side as well).

The fact that one side has one wire less is because that side does not have a foglight bulb wired up.

The rear SAM can be programmed through stardiagnose to either support 1 taillight bulb per side or 2 taillight bulbs per side so by going for 1 bulb the car might come up with a malfunction code (unless you change the rear SAM setting).

The last thing you want to do is soldering anything onto the car's wiring harness...just get the pre 05 taillight connectors (mailed you the partnumbers) and the proper tool to take the pins out of the connector so you can swap them.

those are a perfect fit for any 203 (as far as aftermarket parts can be perfect fit)...for the 2005s one just needs to change the connectors (using original MB parts)...that is how we do the 2005 taillight upgrade for the pre 2005s as well - by changing the connector.

I was hoping the LED "pod" could be transplanted into the OEM housing. Is it molded into the replacement housing?

Off topic (still about LED), can someone help me with regard to 3rd brake light malfunction, I've this error for god know how long, stealer fix it and last for 1 week, always coming back, sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't, work mostly in summer, in winter it just throw malfunction error. Since you're in Hawaii as well.. I wouldn't mind meeting up with you to check out your tail lights if you don't mind. I'm going to order the mercedes 6-pin connectors from the pre '05 w203's as steve mentioned above and make it work.

Does the car look funny with the top brake portion always on as a running light? Any pics? I wonder if there's a way to disable the top portion from being a running light.

I saw them on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

and wanted to see if anyone owns a pair of these. It says that it's only for 00-03, and I was wondering if it would fit '05.

I've also seen the LED ones posted in Eky's thread. His LEDs don't fit the '05, but I'm hoping someone has the none LEDs so that they can tell me if it works with the 05's 7 pin. It's nice, it really gives the car the CL look.

So since I have an 04 and it says that these are made for '00-'03, will these fit my 04? I have no idea if my 04 has the 6 pin connectors either. I really want these just want to make sure that they would and will fit an 04 with a 6 pin also. TIA guys

greetingz,
Can stardiagnose, make both left and right rear fog lights come on? or is this a left side or right side only set up?
