Has anyone put or know someone who put 18s on the front and 19s on back of their w203? Friend on mine swears he saw someone with it like that.

Hah. That's crazy bro, you're going to have to do some math to find out the right overall diameter rolling radius to get it working right.

If I was getting new rims, I would go with that. But I would keep the same profile, this way the front doesnt look like I got huge front tires! The front would sit about .5" lower than the back (raked) which will help to create downforce at high speeds.

Assuming they fit:
F:245/35 R18
R:265/30 R19

-edit-

I just realized, you cant do that... Damn ABS and traction control! They would need to be recalibrated otherwise they would constantly be going off because it thinks the front of the car is going faster than the back!

While it may fit, putting the 19's on the back will probably upset the handling a little bit. My guess is that with the added grip in the corners, the car will push (understeer) even more. Braking balance might be off as well.

Corvette's come from the factory with 17s front and 18s back. However it IS a sport car, so I imagine the benz would look kinda goofy unless you modified the suspension.

I wasn't planning on doing it persay....he was making a suggestion based on what he claimed he saw. I just never thought of it...and yes knew about Vettes & didnt some Porsches as well. Anyways, I know diddly about suspensions, so when he posed it, I had no hard reason on why I couldn't....other than "I've never seen anyone do it." I really don't think you are doing to notice a .5" difference front to back....but the afore mention ABS & traction control sounds lie it might be an issue.

Yeah I found that thread, nice to know someone has done it and it doesn't look bad at all. But since he's been banned, don't know if he's had ABS, traction, etc. problems or corrections he has had to make. The tire size calculator link is much aprreciated as well.

FrankW, I have been meaning to ask this question. I tried out the tire size calculator and it said that I am going 0.5mph faster than what my speed odometer reads, (I am running on 18 inch TSW Bremmas coming from stock 16 inch wheels) . Is this correct and will it affect the miles on the odometer?

Hey Jan, FORCEDINDUCTION has only been banned temporarily, so if you wait a few weeks he'll be back, and you can ask him.

Want to spin this in a different direction. Those with 19s, how many of you have 19s on stock suspensions?? and how many change suspension setup solely because ride quality was change into going to 19s. I guess what I'm getting at, is I dont really care to do anythign to the suspension...so if getting 19s ultimately force me to do that, I'd rather do 18s if I dont have to do much suspension work.

agree, I had 17s in the front and 18s in the back...nothing but crap, lols i had to order 2 more 17s just to be safe...but those are gone now lols...

but back to the topic, yeah either go with all 4 18s or all 4 19s, if u get 19s, lower ur car, otherwise ur car gon look like its standing on heels
