The next MBenzNL (US) installation trip is scheduled for October/November. This trip will go to Seoul, Sydney, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, either New York or Boston and maybe to Washington – other destinations might be possible but somehow I think this will take enough time already.

Like last time we offer a couple of modifications at a special discount price – these specials are ONLY valid for the upcoming trip and ONLY when deposits are received before September 28 AND valid for those who order a self install kit before that same September 28.

For the W203 we offer the following specials:
- refurbished eurospec D2B comand (for the 203s up to 2005): 1450USD incl 3 months warranty (normally 1600USD)
- new 2003 US spec D2B comand (for the 203s up to 2005): 1850USD incl 12 month warranty (normally 2000USD)
- new 2004 US spec D2B SAT-compatible comand (for the 203s up to 2005): 2000USD incl. 12 months warranty (normally 2200USD)
- new updated grills for the 203 coupe: 75USD (normally 110USD – and excl. installation)

Furthermore we still offer the usual modifications (mail us for pricing):
- new power folding sidemirrors with headlight switch for 203s with or without a memory driverside seat…the 2005 and up 203s will have the ability to autofold the mirrors when locking the car
- euro anti blind spot (convex) mirror glasses with auto diming driverside feature
- full parktronic front and rear
- new MOST based CD changer for the 2005s and up (with or without MP3 playback)
- refurbished or new D2B based CD changers for the 203s up to 2005
- euro bumperstrips (without the US specific sidemarkers – NOT available for the 55s)
- updated (clear halogen) headlights, updated (coupe) taillights, updated mirror blinkers
- bi xenon headlights
- UHI and/or MHI (integrated) phonekits
- updated armrests
…and whatever else that was offered by Mercedes as optional equipment…

Question for you guys. Even though I'm not getting the Comand for Steve's October visit, I was wondering if the TV tuner is necessary on the Euro Comand in order to add aux equipment (i.e. DVD player, Playstation, etc...) or is there another alternative in order to plug in an extra piece of equipment.

My problem is I currently have a cd changer, so I don't know how that will affect my ability/non-ability to add on anything extra without a TV tuner. I tried reading old posts, but the answer seemed to be somewhat vague on all of them. In essence, when I do eventually purchase a Comand (whether US or Euro), I'd like to connect my CD changer and a Playstation 2 or DVD player to the Comand.

When you get the chance, would you please let me know?

Drex: MBenzNL sells an A/V adapter that works seamlessly with the US or Euro Comand units to allow video on the Comand screen while in motion. You have to get a switchable DVD player that will allow you to view in the Euro video format (PAL). If your DVD player has RCA inputs like mine, you will be able to plug in a Playstation or other video game console and play onscreen as well. The only problem with trying to plug a PS2 into the A/V adapter directly is that those units are not switchable, and therefore not compatible. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Blake, you're the man! Thanks for the clarification. That totally makes sense. Does having a DVD player or playstation connected through the A/V adapter affect the ability for my cd changer to stay connected or are they connected through seperate inputs?

They're completely separate. You will use the "CD" button on the Comand to play the CD changer, and the blank (US Comand) or TV (Euro Comand) button to activate the DVD player.

Whats required for the '05 Euro comand to get a DVD input... I wouldnt care about TV tuner as the signals around here suck since 9/11, and there isnt much on anyways!

Kenzmbz: 2005 W203 - we do have Euro comands, and Steve is trying to get a few US spec comands as well... Not sure when, though.

IL230K: no worries, Erwin. We will be in touch - hopefully I will get to the Chicago customers today. I didn't count, but I believe I have to contact over 100 interested customers for this upcoming US trip.

Capt_Nemo: TV tuner for the 2005 W203 Euro comands... or some sort of video adapter, which we don't have in stock. Besides, from what I understood from Steve, the video adapters for cars with MOST are quite expensive as well.

You could consider hooking up the TV tuner for the sole pleasure of getting DVD, and adding a Playstation.

If it's up to Steve, then yes - but it all depends on the NY area customers, and whether or not they are interested in getting some mods installed. Although frankly, I am pretty sure we will be able to get my brother in the Tri-State area.

If you're talking about DVD video, no they cannot. 2005 navigation is DVD based, however, but this only means it uses DVD nav discs. If you want DVD video on the Comand screen you have to add a TV tuner or A/V adapter.
