I would be furious! Thank heavens you are ok...but now begins the philosophical questioning of "what would have happened if it had the foam padding?"....would the damages have been less extreme? I would think so...
Get something in writing about the fact that the foam was missing and make them pay for this (or split costs or something)....

yeah i am pretty pissed and i am thinking about taking this up with them. i do want to get a statement in writing from the current body shop that there was no foam. i am going to send an email to MBSD who had the car last week to verify they didnt remove the foam and that no foam was installed.

Just shows you how little MBUSA does for us. In England you can order the car with all the goodies we want. MBUSA's ****ty support for anything but the land yachts is why I'll probably be looking at someone else next time.

I haven't read this post in a while, sorry to hear about all your problems getting your car repaired. I think you did the right thing moving your car where you can
have control over the process and your mods, 05 front end looks nice I would install that. Good luck w/ the paint match.

and I got your voice-mail yesterday too.... That bums me out just as much, as you must be. It's sad to see a Coupé in that condition.
Was in Argentina all last week, just got back yesterday.
Go away for a week and the Citron Coupé goes Godzilla on me !!
As for AMG front bumpers, I have listed the AMG "B" accessory part numbers on my "A La Mode" thread a few times. I would definitely go through Steve (MBenzNL) to get them if you can. Harris (HartonMotorwerks) seems to have gone belly-up, so they're not available through him anymore. Make sure you also get the AMG mesh grill & clips, AMG foglights, and bumper foam to fit.
If you do go for a '05/'06 OEM bumper, those look pretty good too. They are very similar in style to the AMG bumper.
Definitely stay away from the DRONELLIS replica (fake) bumpers. Plagued with fitment issues and shady business.
Again, really sorry for the hassle something like this causes.
I can't believe the MBSD BodyShop is so ****. Those guys really suck.

i know Steve arrived in San Francisco today,

yeah im going with the 2005 bumpers. im getting the lights, impact strips, foglights and 2 grills from steve. the rest im going to have the body shop order.

the good thing is that there are SOOOO few 2005 C-Coupés rolling around, that it will definitely stand out from the 2002-2004 C-Coupés.
I guess waiting on parts probably takes the longest time.

ok so when i went to body shop on Saturday to talk to the guys, i noticed flames drawn on my hood. i said "are you guys gonna paint flames on it now?" they said no we got it this way from mercedes-benz of san diego.
i guess i did **** em off. not like its a big deal im getting a new hood anyhow.
so here are the pics of the flames. i went back today, i wanted to take pictures of them before the new hood arrived. not much progress, parts are on order.

I know the DEALERSHIP MBSD would not stand for something like that.
the BODY SHOP MBSD are full of monkeys.
I would really schedule a meeting with MBSD Management ASAP, and have them explain this complete lack of respect. Damaged hood or not, I would be pissed !!!
