Replacement Windshield Wiper Blades

Replacement Windshield Wiper Blades
I went to Pep Boys yesterday trying to get replacement blades for my 2004 c320 and the guy there said they don't have any that will fit and I would have to go to the dealer for them. I was told the same thing from Advanced auto Parts. Is this True? Where can I get them?
I searched the forum and even online with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance.

I would try HI/Lo, I bought a pair from there a while ago, but the thing is that our wiper blades are different sizes so you will have to buy two diffent lengths. I would just go and buy them from the dealership to make life easier.

Sorry to bring up a really OLD thread but.....
I found out the hard way yesterday that the normal over the counter bladed replacements don't fit. I picked up the proper sizes but the connection doesn't work. Short of buying new arms and blades, are there options for bladed replacements? I know the dealer can provide them but I'd rather not if at all possible.

Get the new Bosch curve blade. IIRC it's a 24 on the driver side and 22 on the passenger. They fit and work much better than the ones from the dealer. I couple them with RainX washer fluid and it makes for a great setup.
I got mine at Advance.

Replacement blades can be a nuisance, if you don't go to the dealer. They're SWF, also used on VW, Volvo and I don't know what all else.
If you opt for replacement blade holders -the parts that hook into the wiper arm, and hold the blade inserts- you can get any of several brands off the rack at Wal*Mart. I went with Triple Edge. Once you get an aftermarket holder, most companies supply replacement blade inserts for their line. Check the package to see if the proper arm adapters are included.

I bought a set of Michelin BLADES at the local Wal-Mart and nothing in the container would fit the current application I have. I was hoping to keep the stock/ factory arms and only replace the blades. All the other brands they had were the "old" style with the metal frames. I am looking for the "newer" style that is only rubber (similar to the RainX Latitude and the Michelin Optimum).
If I read correctly, I'll need to replace the arms as well in order to use something like the above mentioned?

They can be purchased online from a dealer for about 15 each side.
On my car, the coupe, the passenger side is curved in such a way, nothing else fits properly, and as I said, 15 each online.
Quotes from local stores way exceeded that cost.
Search "trademotion" and "mercedes" to find a dealer closest to you.
Ft. Lauderdale in the East and Autobahn (SF area) in the west both sell online + others.

Hmm - I've had two different sets of aftermarket blades (with arms) that worked perfectly fine. That's weird that you've had issues.
And yes, you'll have to replace the arms themselves, not just the blades. Though the overall expense is what, $20 each?

were like....DUH!
The quotes for anything from just blades not in the arms, to
blades with arms was from $30 to I think it was $65 to $75 for the passenger side one since it's curved sideways on the coupe.
I've been replacing them yearly, but I noticed that part of the A & B services is to CLEAN the wiper blades, something I've never done.
Also, I just got my "Free" sample pack from 303 Products
http://www.303products.com/ and it includes a small packet of windshield wiper "treatment". I'm wondering if with a little extra care, perhaps they'd last longer?
I got the sample pack mainly for the "Areospace Protectant" which is designed to clean, moisturize, and protect rubber seals, like the ones used in our cars, prevent them from sticking AND Freezing.
I got this hoping it can replace the stuff mercedes calls out in the sunroof maint. procedure (there's a seperate thread on this folks) that costs 50 bucks and does the same thing.
A friend who's a detailer mentioned them, and they supposedly make darn fine products.
"303 Wiper Treatment
Reconditions hardening rubber windshield wiper blades. 303 Wiper Treatment Stops Annoying Chattering, Skipping and Streaking!
By reconditioning hardening rubber blades. 303 Wiper Treatment restores lost flexibility and performance. 303 Wiper Treatment Keeps Wiper Blades Working Like New.
Each 303 Wiper Treatment packet contains a sponge applicator. Wipe on, wait a minute and wipe dry. Nothing could be easier. Each packet will treat 2-3 wiper blades. Reapply as necessary, usually every 3-5 weeks."

Thanks guys. I'll call the only two MB dealers in my area and see what they say/ quote.
FWIW, the two Michelin blades I bought yesterday ran $15 +/- each (blades only). I returned them the same day so no money lost with the exception of gas used.

I just bought these the other week at AutoZone and I love them! Very easy installation!

Autohausaz.com sells then for $5.23 each side for SWF, the oem brand. Spend over $50 (air filer, fuel filter, spark plugs, belts, etc), you get free shipping. They are pretty fast and never had a problem with anything I bought from them.

Beauty, Buell. Ordered.
I tried the Trico frameless wipers on my J30. No complaints. The mount kind of sticks out like a sore thumb, but it's still visually below the hood line. But when they're shot, you have to foot the whole cost again instead of a set of blade inserts.
Blades should be washed, and cleaned before using them if practical. A piece of old T-shirt has just enough "tooth" to scrape the rubber surface clean, and remove the dead wiper surface.
Of course, with inserts on order, I will be rain-free here until January. Eh, maybe I can find some thick fog over in Frisco.

For those who have the REAL OEM aero-wiper blades (ie 2004+), is there ANYTHING you can do to get rid of the passenger side arm squeaks? So damn annoying

My Autohausaz.com order arrived. Just the slightest bit surprised to find the replacement blades were only that- the bare rubber coiled up in plastic bags. Not a real challenge for sitting around at home, but I'd not want to know what the shop would try to scalp you to have the "tech" disassemble the old blades, recover the stainless stiffeners and wrangle them into place.
I didn't re-use the factory securing clips; the design of the rubber looks enough to keep things in place.
I hope I remember where I've put them when the next rains come around. Until then, the Rain-X blades will be left to age on the car.

2002 C 240
I went to advanced auto parts and got replacements there for my 2002 C240. Just be sure to measure the driver and passenger size blades as they are different. Don't go to the dealer unless you want to pay $50 each. Not worth it dude.

I just received my new wiper blades from Autohausaz today, and they're nothing like the blades on my car now. I called the dealer and described my blades and blade holders and was told they are the originals that came on the 2004 Kompressor Sport Sedan. The blades have an angled rubber piece that is a continuation of the wiper rubber. This angled rubber "flap" sits above the wiper arm, I assume the angle is to create some sort of aerodynamic pressure onto the blade arm at high speeds, or something to shed water...to be honest, I don't really know what the heck it's supposed to do.
What I do know is that the blades I received in the mail today have thick trapeziod shaped rubber tops that will never fit into the blade holders. They do not have the rubber flap like the originals. They'll never fit inside the endcaps that are on my blades now...those end caps are designed to cover that thin rubber flap at the top of the blade.
I'm confused. The new blade set was only $18...I don't even know if it will be worth the hassle to return them. My current blades are jumping and screeching...I'll have to replace them soon...hate to get ripped off at the dealer though...
Does anyone know if the blades I describe are really the originals?

2008 Charger SRT-8
Sorry to bring up an old thread but how do i get aftermarket blades to work with my factory 2004 setup? The blades on there now have a clip that slides out and the blades fall out. The part where they attach to is large and rubber like and does not fit anything i can find at the local part stores. I have been reading and it sounds like i can buy adapters from MB but not sure? Can someone shed some light on this please? Mine are worn out and i need to replace.
thanks!!!
thanks!!!
