Get the dealer's kit -- no aftermarket kit will be as nicely integrated. I have the ipod kit on my 06 C280...very nice...lets me browse artist, song, playlist, etc...shuffle....etc. Very nice kit, clean installation. My last car I paid $200 for a kenwood ipod kit including installation...and that one well, stunk. I'm very pleased with MB's kit.

I second that - u get steering wheel button control and the instrument panel display - even though that doesn't scroll long titles and doesn't display the artist. Figure around $200 for the install on top of the price for the kit if it's done by a dealer.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
$299 is list, so insist on wholesale and refuse to pay more than $250.
It only takes an hour to install, not including time for an adult beverage.
It integrates well, and you can read on the multifunction display what your ears already know!
It is the cleanest way to use an Ipod.

When you turn on your radio, or your CDC, does IPod switch on too, or you must switch on the ipod separately?
I'm getting mad and risking continuosly accidents turning on my Archos in the glove box!

How it wurks :-)
It works beautifully. The iPod remains plugged in, hidden inside the glove box (get the cradle/holder as well -- $17 roughly -- worth it to not hear it sliding around inside your glovebox). Then, you select "Radio" from your stereo and select "AUX". Selecting aux automatically powers on the iPod, and switches the in-dash display from radio/cd controls to an iPod> prompt, and away you go! You use the phone buttons to go in and out of directories. Volume control works as normal, and the track up+down buttons work just like a CD but backwards. When listening to a CD, you push up to go up a track...well, imagine how the iPod display works -- you go "down" to the next track....so its visa-versa. Other than that - it really rocks!
To add to that, I don't even take my iPod out of the glovebox anymore -- I leave it plugged in 24/7 because I only listen to it in the car....
My only complaint - it seems that if I'm listening to a playlist - there is no way of going back a directory once the car is turned off -- it resumes, but when I try to "go back" one directory -- it starts from the beginning asking if I want a playlist, artist, song, etc. *HRM*....either way, it is still 100% safer than trying to balance an iPod while driving....and in my book you can't put a price on that.
