$840 for 10-20 hp increse depends on engine size and the fuel you use(91 or 93)

Want to know if anyone have it already ?? Do you really feel the difference ??the speed limiter will be remove !! I may think about it if cost like $500 instead $840 !! Because the hp increase only about 10 hp for me in CA(91 gas only ! ) Don't think it worth the money tho !!

Powerchip is affiliated with Evosport.com Not sure how many people have gotten just the Powerchip flash/chip/ecu upgrade/tuning (whichever term you want to use).

I haven't really thought of doing any power mods yet. Waiting for more things to become available for sale. Last power mod will be the flash/ecu upgrade/tuning, so that the ecu will be programmed and tuned to the other power mods that I'd have on the engine. That's just my $.02

Chipping a C350
Reportedly I could gain 20-25 Hp by letting them flash the chip for $840.

Sooo when my dealer re-flashes my chip back to factory defaults do I get a "do over" or do I fork out another $840?

Tishers, only reason the dealership would need to do that is if you have "engine" or "ecu" problems and they find that the ECU specs have been changed. At that point, they might not even cover it under warranty/or possibly might say that the ECU was tampered with and in order to "fix" the problem they would need to change the ECU settings back to "normal" specs.

In that event, I wouldn't be surprised if you'd have to fork up another $840 to have the ECU re-flashed / tuned. You'd have to check with Powerchip and/or Evosport for that. Not very many companies (Euro or JDM tuning) offer re-flashes for free. Some offer discounted rates, others may re-flash if they have your specific engine information stored. In essence it all comes down to the company policies as far as "re-flash" is concerned.

I believe Powerchip does re-flash for free if the dealer reverts back to stock.

NP. If I am correct, they keep your stock profile and the profile they made (if its not standard, ie you had them take other mods into account) on file so if anything should ever happen, you need not shell out more $$$.

That's what I figured. I know that there are a lot of shops that don't keep a cars profile, and if they do they charge maybe half price to re-do the flash. To hear that a company will re-flash for free is just great customer service.

Very well said drexappeal. Hard mods should be considered first when taking performance into mind. I think everyone is looking for a quick fix into having extra HP when in fact it's probably 1/3 of actual power at the rear wheels after the mod itself.

Modding is not an overnight success. Most of these drivers don't even know how to get their cars dyno'd so can we expect a simple chip to cure our needs.

I wouldn't trust any system that can be installed for $800. You need the kit, a warmer, remote bottle opener, nitrous gauge, fuel pressure gauge. I loved my nitrous kit but it was a PITA refilling it 1-2 times per week...and it adds up in cost everytime you fill it.

Yes. I would tell you to search but apparently all the threads have been deleted.

As per my agreement with powerchip I am not going to discuss my experience with the product on this forum.
