Even better in person!

Hi all- I went to the Lexus and MB dealers today to schmooze over the IS350 and C Class Sport. I was torn between the two and wanted to see both in up close and personal to better compare.

The Lexus was nice. I'm short, so I don't want my car to be too big. The IS is a pretty large sedan. The interior looked better in person (well, through the windows). But the windows were quite small. Granted, I didn't drive it, but it was just too much car for me. My stepdad sold Lexus for years, so I know how innovative and dependable they are.

The MB dealer was practically next door, so I walked over. They had a white C320 Sport. I would like a C350. The C is a good size for me. The lines were so smooth, but sporty. The white looked good, but I would prefer black. Even the tires were beautiful! The interior is nice, spacious, and simple.

So I am going to pick the C over the IS.

If I get the COMAND system, does it display the MB logo when not on or something? I don't have any type od Nav in my current car.

It's going to be a while before I can purchase a C. But maybe I can take advantage of some end of current model deals.

an all new C class model will be out in 2007. Though it wouldnt matter if you wont keep your new car that long, or if it doesnt bother you driving an outdated model.

stick with the W203 in my opinion. even thought 204 is on its way, the 203 is a great bodystyle/model line.

I would LOVE to have a C43. C43's are the shiznit!

it bothered me driving my C280 Sport for so long (I was the original owner), so I got a w203. if the C350 had come out last year, I would have most definitely gotten that instead. but, I got my C230WZ b/c I figured I'd use it for two years before the w204 comes out and wait another year for all the bugs to be fixed out of the w204 before getting one... With the C350, the timing would have been an issue.

I completely forgot to reply. I'm sorry... My car is basically stock (doesn't come close to a C43 ). It's an 05 C230WZ with Auto, Entertainment, Sunroof, and Lighting Packages. The only "mods" (if you can call them that) are AL door pins, hardwired V1, AUX In, and painted sidemarkers (I have a pretty substantial mod coming on Wednesday hopefully ) I may get K&N filters, but I'm worried for the same reason why I didn't put them on my w202--it may fu(k the MAF sensor...

Don't be afraid of the K&N'S.I've run them in every vehicle I've owned - my 97' Maxima has 173k on the clock - 140k with the K&N's.As long as you follow the directions when "oiling" I repeat "oiling" you're o.k.Just remember you "oil it" not MARINATE IT.If they were a problem or defective I wouldn't put them in my C43.

hahaha, you don't need to "oil' them when new though right? they come pre-oiled new, so the only time they need to be oiled is at around 50k miles?

thanks!

too much car? You haven't driven either car and you have already decided? On paper alone, the IS350 just trounces the C350. The key difference is an available manual for the C, if that should be your deciding factor.

I'm a die hard and very loyal MB fan...so I'd take the C-class hands down over the Lex IS350 regardless of features, power, etc...!!! Despite the fact I drive a VW...it was given to me as a gift so as long as I don't have to pay for a car I'll drive it whether it's an MB or not! :p Just had to say that in case someone were to use it against me!
