Funny.. :p ..came painted that way...debating getting it redone in black to match the rest of the car...
that key-lime pie down there is yum-yum good !
what were we talking about ????
My god - I thought that era was finally passed tense...IF you go that way - make sure you don't stick your arm out of the window as much as manta drivers used to do - it will wear the stripes off just below the window...
greetingz,
And that's great. I do like the MINI, and can't wait to see what BMW has in store for the expanded range that's coming.

As I recall, it was a price leader and the deletion of the stainless trim was part of the package. Might be better to swap parts.
As far as stripes? The only thing I think would look even remotely descent is if you put Rookie strips on. But only on a silver car and the stripes are slightly darker, maybe like gun metal or titanium color. Ghost Rookie Stripes.
Yes, they came out with a new "base" trim which is a bare-boned model w/o heated seats, TPS, etc. Unfortunately just like some of the problems that the C230/320 crowd ran into with swapping engine parts with the C32; this also happens with Crossfire since it's not only the supercharger that is different between the N/A 3.2 and the SRT/AMG-spec'd engine.
Captain,
Besides the plastic engine cover (which I removed) every single part is the same. (Funny that the cover actually covers up many of the part number stickers with the M.B. star logo and "AMG" imprints on the supercharger). That pic also shows the SL55 intake I changed over to. Since the pulleys, headers, etc. are exactly the same as in the C32 these aftermarket parts they will also work in the SRT-6 without modification.
Maybe for the smaller sized cars(Civic's, Neon's, etc.)...but for example, the new Cobra coming out (red and white combo) and present year Vipers (blue and white combo) look sharp without giving the car a high school adolescent feel..IMO
