Disable this Safety Feature?
I know there is a safety feature that prevents you from doing the following:
1) Car in N: Rev past 5k (i think its 5k)
2) Car in N: Rev, then put into drive
i assume they go hand in hand... i tired to disable ESP, but nothing happened... i just wanted to know if you can...

i like to that do that when the treads are pretty much gone (nearly every 2 yrs). it is fun!
try this: with dyno mode on, car in N, rev up a little, drop in R, speed up past 10mph, turn steering wheel all the way left (or right), then drop in D. some braking and gas as you see fit here in there, and you got to be fast. i do not know what this is called (180 perhaps?). but i only got it once and will not be able to try again till another year. lots of fun!
(please try this in an area not being used by the public and preferably with wet or sandy road conditions)

I Love this crap!! Next time buy a standard shift or an AMG. They have no problem lighting the tire up. **** I just hit the ESP Off button and drop the clutch and punch it at the same time and can spin my tires. Or just power brake as well. The Auto Tranny and the Electronic Throttle will not allow power braking on an auto tranny car. Sorry but I have a feeling MB thought they were selling a luxury brand and people did not want or need to power brake, as well as do damage to there tranny and engine in the process. Also note that every AMG can and will light them up as well so if you want that you spend the extra money. Although I am sure the new C350 can probably sit and break her tires lose easily.

Well, Dyno mode still does not dissable the 4k RPM limiter... The trick is to go 5 MPH while you are rolling past a certain low speed marker the limiter is automatically disengaged. Plus i have a 6 spd so it's much easier.
To those who are doing automatic drive drops... Not a good idea, unless you can afford a new tranny![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Cheers

i tried a power brake in my C320... soon as the car revs to about 1500-2000 rpm's the rear lights up, no problem at all... instantly.
Just turn off your ESP, and lightly hold the brake (only trying to keep the front tires locked up)
I put the auto into 1st gear, but the car will shift to second after a few seconds of tire spinning.
The car sill spin as long as you want it to, and really only travels a little to the left and right, just correct with wheel. You will slowly move forward, then to finish off your show.... release the brake!... your car will instantly kick sideways, steer out of it, and off you go... J
Just let up off the gas for a split second to to get the tires to grap traction, the car will instantly hit first, and your OFF....... only to realize your 30 second show probably just ate 50 dollars + in rubber.
I strongly do not suggest, pookies way of doing it... Reverse to drive, or Neutral rev, and drop to D... THATS really hard on the drivetrain. There is a reason, MB makes the car come to a complete stop before the tranny engages to D from R... not only are you destroying your u-joints, but your transmission also. I once twisted my drive shaft from that whole R-D trick in a merkur xr4ti.
