Yea definatly.. Its because the morning is usually cooler and cooler air is more dense. More dense air means more O2 (oxygen) per given area. The more O2 you have in the engine, the larger the explosion, the larger the explosion, the faster the car Its great, I love those cool mornings or those cool autumn afternoons where a car will just scream!

wait... how would dry-ice help... didnt you say the more O2? Dry - ice gives of CO2, well nvm, it tech has O2, but i was thinking pure O2... so what exactly does the car do with the carbon? hmmmmm chemistry sucks... (by the way, i am right now studying for my SAT II Chem Test...) hence the stupid question

No, the change affects NA and FI the same...unless the change is causing a heat soaking in the intercooler.

I was just speaking in comparison from my v6 MX-6 vs. my 230 K SS. I notice more lag during the heat in my 230k SS than I did in my MX-6 (based on change of whether).

Realistically speaking, you are correct that it definitely would affect both NA and FI cars the same, but for some reason, it feels more apparent to me w/ my Kompressor.

It's pretty well conceded here that the range in performance differences is less with NA, but greater range with FI. ie. Less drop-off in performance with NA than with FI.

NA = Cool>>>>>>>Hot
FI = Cool>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hot

It's just the nature of FI engines...

last time I looked dry ice was carbon dioxide .... the same stuff they use in certain models of fire extinguisher.

Now if you meant to say .... wrap it around the intercooler then I would certainly agree.

I think he meant to say ONTO your intake not INTO. Old racer's trick is to ice the intake manifold to lower temps before a run. Dry ice does have the ability to remove more heat and leaves no water behind to get between your tires and the pavement. Be sure to remove any remaining ice before your run to prevent ingesting CO2.

There are no stupid questions just bad explanations.

I wouldnt go pumping pure Oxygen into a car. Also known as LOX (liquid oxygen). It would destroy the engine in seconds but man would it do some serious cranking.

For me it's a lot faster in the morning, for example, I can get to work in 25-30 minutes in the morning but in the afternoon traffic it can take 35-40 minutes. I don't think dry ice would help though.

Yeah, the car felt more alive as I ramped her up to 110mph last night (temp was about 55 degrees). What a rush!!! And I consider myself a slow driver ( @80mph tops regularly) compared to some of you guys.
