MB is also showing an SLK320 CDI Tri-Turbo show car with Alubeam paint. Pretty nifty. It's in the latest Automobile Mag.

Read about.com to learn the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger. Neither one is inherently more powerful.

MB is not going to sell you a supercharger kit (or a turbocharger kit). You'll need to get it from a tuner.

Although, and maybe MBenzNL or someone knows the answer to this...could you order kompressor parts from a C32 and fit them onto a C320 engine? Even if it were possible something tells me it might be cheaper to go with a tuner kit.

It won't work. The NA C320 engine and C32 AMG engine are different. They may share the same engine block, but components such as crankshaft and pistons were reinforced on the AMG handbuilt engine. Compression ratios and timing is different. Only alternative to "super" the NA C320 engine would be to add an aftermarket supercharger from Kleeman, Renntech, or Carlsson. Be prepared to spend at least $12K-15K on supercharging it and your warranty will most likely be voided. Easier to do motor swap. Easiest method would be to just buy an AMG car.

Complete engines go for less than tuner kits. Why a spanner set makes me more qualified than Doctorates in Engineering is anyones guess. But cubic inches beats higher compression which is why AMG feels the need to have more cubic inches as a statement in the marketplace.

If someone could do it for less money with a smaller motor .... they surely would.

This is always my thought when I hear about people wanting to push the power outpout on standard engines that are built for a certain power output. Sure I believe that the engines including full drive train might be able to deal with small gains in power output, but something has to give up eventually downstream if you keep increasing power at the top end and don't change all components withing the engine and drivetrain.

Turbo hands down. Don't beleive the hype about a turbo car not being reliable. It's all about the tuning.

just run with a 50-shot of wet NOS its not soo much that you will destroy anything. and much cheaper then a 10k+ conversion.

Honestly guys, if the guy has the money, let him purchase the Supercharger kit from Kleeman etc.. If he doesn't then he's out of luck.

Also you guys worry about the waranty issue a little to excessively. By law the factory cannot void your waranty if you were to add a supercharger. The only way they can void a waranty or to be more accurate "WARANTY SERVICE" is if your added performance part actually caused the the waranty repair issue, and they have to prove it. Plain and simple

now, it's friday and i've typed way to much..

Liquor before beer, you're all in the clear! remember that and you'll have a great weekend! Have a happy one!

I'm pretty sure the SL600 is Turbo charged. Also, there was a 230 Coupe that had a custom Turbo (although I heard there were problems with the car).

Honestly, if this guy had a C230 instead of the C320, I would have called him out as being C230_617.

Perhaps he's just saying he has a C320, but I don't know... His posts have just been waaaaay too similar to our buddy C230_617.

I'd jump on this too, Phil, but not enough new threads yet. Once the "duplicate" threads and redundant threads start to pop up, it'll become more in line with C230_617.

I agree, but then again some of the replies have been at about the same level.
