Deals on 2002 Coupes???
Has anyone seen any good deals on 2002 coupes with the model year comming to an end? A local dealer offered $299 a month for 39 months, 4k down, C5 and auto plus tax.
Does that seem compeditive?
If the residual buy out is less than 12,000.00 then you should go for it....but be careful of the terms. MB dealers are notorious for low mileage estimates and screwing the consumer on maintenance policies in their LEASES.
Other than that, based on sales figures for the car, I'd be surprised to see any discount deals on sales. I'm not sure any dealers in my area can even GET 2002 coupes...they SOLD them all!

I guess it depends on the market.

According to MBs press releases the new 1.8 will be more powerful/quicker/fuel efficient than the current generation of 4bangers.
The 1.8 has a higher SPECIFIC power output, meaning more power per litre. But its absolute power rating is down about 5 HP on the 2002 model. Also, the 2003 is definitely not quicker, though it's not much slower either; M-B in Europe rated the 2002 at 8.0 seconds from 0-100 km/h, and it rates the 2003 at 8.1 seconds 0-100 km/h. The top speeds are (officially) identical, at 240 km/h (149 MPH). The fuel economy of the 1.8 is better, at 9.2 L/100 km versus 9.9 L/100 km for the 2.3.
but i question the veracity of that pdf file... could be fake
who knows?
MB doesn't have a great history for producing trouble free things in their first year, that's why they release cars in their domestic market first, but decided not to do that with the 1.8L. Maybe they are that confident.
'03 engine is a new motor worldwide, who knows if it will be as reliable as the 2.3L.
It sounds like you are admitting some reliablity from MB. :p

I thought I heard LN was having a fire sale?
I saw somewhere the total qt. sales on coupes was like 6-7K. That doesn't sound like much to me for a new car, so much invested, tooling etc.
Whats that mileage work out to for us yanks?
Km per liter...gimme a break ;-)
I say bring back cubic inches....
now theres some rumble for ya.
Make mine a 426 Hemi please.
(We aint talkin' liters here....)
OK, enough foolishness, what the frickin'
MPG ?
So smaller engine huh?
Hmmm.....a 1.8 liter with 187 HP?
Yup, time will tell on that engine.
Then again, on the coupes the Supercharger runs all the time, no clutch like earlier models, so thats a unique configuration as well for just the one model year on the C230.
HA! Personally I'll take a 2.3 over a 1.8!
Selling well?
