i love my new 2002 kompressor but it is important that it should drive without the shut offs or stalls. i got my car on tues. 16 of july and i have 450 miles on the car! good thing it shows up now instead of later. has anyone had this problem as of late....i know it has been a subject from the earlier ones off the line( mine was just made like a MONTH AGO)
I'M taking it in to the shop tommorrow to get one of those goofy loaners that everyone talks about or i could get a skateboard and roll behind MB-Bob like on Back to the Future

Tell them to replace the fuel pump assembly. That appeared to cure our random stalls, but we kept the car only a few weeks after the repair, so who knows?
Hope you didn't get it at park place in Bedford, if you did, make sure you get Graydon Wall as a service adviser. He is a straight shooter, and went the extra mile for me on several occasions.
Good luck.

p.s.
i got it at the plano parkway location, not bedford tejas.
No, I did not pursue the lemon law route. Apparently, Daimler Chrysler requires that you sue them, unlike other manufacturers. I tried to switch to a C320 wagon, but the deal was not good for me - in essence park place wanted me to eat $5000 on the deal - 2k down, and 3k which we were upside down. I then consulted my attorney, who informed me of Daimler Chrysler's suit requirement. Such suits typically last 6 months. I weighed everything up, decided to forget my down payment, and did a deal with Volvo, who ate up the upside down portion of 4k, as they offered only 22.5k, not 23.5 like MB.
It was my wife's car, and I did not feel happy with here driving it, especially since she was 1 month pregnant. It took several visits to the dealership to NOT sort out a bunch of issues with the car. My lemon law case seemed strong, but I am self employed, and did not relish the stress and time wasted for a suit. On top of that, the service manager at park place (he has since been reassigned) was a complete jerk. In the end, all I lost besides a LOT of time was 2k.
I would have the fuel pump replaced ASAP. It may fix the problem, after which you may be happy with the car.
BTW, ours cut out a total of 3 times at varying speeds.
Take it back to Ewing (plano pkwy) and tell your salesmonkey and servicemonkey you're not the least bit happy with a dead car so soon. I'd tell them you nearly got run over by an 18-wheeler just for emphasis.
It's easy to get a bitter taste in your mouth, but try to keep it positive and see what happens.

MBs are designed without added tint. It is not their fault that you tinted your car, nor are they responsible for keeping your non-factory tint in good shape; it is actually your fault that you did not research this, and replace the molding around the windows. This necessary replacement has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum.
New paints ain't what they used to be; deal with it. Complaining about "dull paint" would annoy me as well.
Sounds like you have some valid electronical problems, but the other "problems" are probably putting the dealership off, and though they should treat everyone the same, your insistence on discussing things that aren't their fault has probably blackballed you at the service dept.
