i would leave the springs alone, it's got a unique suspension

it's a 4MATIC

error messages will pop up in the instrument cluster

If you have airmatic in your E-class, I believe you could lower it using star diagnose (although not much).

Most people lift 4x4's. Do they have a lift kit for it? Then you can put some 35" swamp tires and be the talk of the town. You can always do it the old fashioned way, cut the springs.

correct me if I am wrong, a 4-matic is a 4 wheel drive, how is the suspension any different from the std 2WD? They should be the same no? I am just guessing those manufacturers do not have their parts listed for 4matics becoz they are not as common. They should be the same as long as they are for W203...ok someone confirm this for the poor guy.

springs

on a 2 wheel drive the front springs have the same outside diameter from top 2 bottom, 4-matic spings are shaped more like a football lets say 3" on the top and bottom and 5" in the middle.

Yes, and four wheel burn-outs is usually not one of the reasons people buy 4-matic cars (esp. C240's)..

Point being is why get a car specifically designed for use in all-weather situations and basically defeat one of it's main features by making the car lower thus making the car less capable in snow ?

You probably won't find any springs for the car. I'm betting that very few people with 4matic would actually want to lower their car. Thus no companies would produce 4matic springs because there is no demand for them. You might be able to lower it a bit through the mb computer...

Well it looks like you already checked out the obvious so the next set would have to be a custom job.

I also just noticed in your description that it is not only a C240 4-matic it's a C240 4-matic wagon ...my condolences...

no...doesn't the computer only come into play for lowering in Airmatic-type suspension's that I believe are not available on the C-class model line ??

His only opinion, and I'm not even sure if the 4-matic's have them, is to change out spring pads to the thinnest diameter. Won't be much of a drop though..

Well.. I am not sure if same thing applies to W203 4 Matic, but one of my friends got his W210 4 Matic lowered with Brabus springs and had no error sign or anything.. You might want to check with Brabus.. Good luck!

TIRERACK....

As I remembereed on the tirerack website, they said "EXCLUDES 4MATIC MODELS"

if I were you, LEAVE YOUR 4matic alone, get ur 19s and leave it
