As u can tell i know jack @$#% about modifying cars. :-)
please help me out. i need more help than that though, i need to know basically any extra mods i can do to it?

2002 C230 Kompressor
So you have already taken delivery? This car has the 1.8 engine? How do you like it? How does it compare (what differences do you see) between it and the 2002 coupe? Anything we haven't heard about on the board?

Can you post some pics of your 2003? Exterior, interior, engine compartment? A lot of rumors about tweaks in options and features are out there. It would be nice to know first hand what cosmetic changes there are.

No exterior changes for '03 coupes
Rumors are untrue,
There are no exterior changes on the '03 C coupe!
We have '03 cars here and I parked one next to an '02 yesterday to be sure. There are no changes to the exterior. I also could see no changes to the interior.
Of course the big dif is the 1.8 liter engine. I drove 6 speed '03 and the engine is smoother, quiter and seems to rev a little quicker. I posted the dyno graph from the '03 brochure yesterday. The specs are very close to the '02 and the car is 55-60 lbs. lighter (according to '02/'03 brochure). It felt slightly better balanced and I doubt that there will be a difference in performance.
Other than the engine the only other changes I see are the availability of the Xenon lights and a factory installed CD changer for $400 (the same exact unit and location as in '02, in the glovebox)
I think that all the concern about the new motor turns out to be unfounded. Allthough for htose that want to modify theirs the 2.3 probably give syou more options.

Greekgirl,
The '03 model is available with a Factory installed CD changer for $400. If you have the car already and have to have one installed at the dealer it is going to cost more.

I am also not going to post this type of information any more because some miscreant on this forum sent the change list to MBUSA asking for details. A few weeks later my friends department got some heat about product evolution information leaking out. He was not appreciative and neither am I.

You are welcome Young
I think we all just need to realize that in this era of internet information nothing you read is gospel. I introduce the information as I get it from MB or from personal observation. I have learned a lot from this board as well.
Bottom line is that we need to take it all with a grain of salt.

CME4BENZ, any chance of you posting some pics of the 2003's? Maybe some views from front and rear quarters and a couple interior shots. Also, my dealer hasn't received any 2003 brochures, do you have access to a scanner to scan some of the specs on the cars?
I originally was concerned about the engine, but I have faith in MB and one of their top goals is to get back on top with JD Powers. So I feel confident in the engine, especially with the few testimonials coming from folks that seem to like it, or at least not knocking it too bad. I do not plan to modify the engine for HP gains, so I personally could care less about the lack of mods right now. I bet the Renntech already has a plan in place for some mods.
Thanks in advance!

I can take pics but the '02 and '03 are visually the same.

the headlights for the '03 are the same as '02 no changes except for engine. As for the xeon lights for '03 my dealer is saying they are not available for the coupe.

THe xenons are listed as an option for the "03 coupe. We have '03 coupes in stock but none have come in yet with the xenons. If we get one with xenons i will be glad to post a pic.

xenon lights for C class is option code 172 / $750. It is a factory installed option and I don't believe they can be retrofitted on an '02. Have your dealer check his dealer ordering guide on netstar for '03 C class option list.
