try ebay.
I purchase my festoon LEDs from www.autolumination.com. I'm satisfied with their products.

Just got a question from you guys doing it a different way from me. The bulbs that you are purchasing "festoon bulbs" 39MM, do these still need resistors or you guys are adding them somehow? If you don't need to add resistors than I think this is great.

I give up! Same thing happened again! I bought the autolumination LED's and then the 10W 100Ohm resistors and used splice taps. The right side is perfect, but the left side keeps flickering on and off. I've tried it with DION's LEDs and these and still the same problem. If anyone in LA knows how to do this, let me know. I'm willing to pay for someone to help me out. Thanks!

I used these bulbs from this Performance Store in Concord [TwinCam Motorsports] when I had my honda. The package was all Japanese, but the lights kicked major ***! I'm going back and getting rear plate lights and matching interior lights for my MBl.

haha. yeah. thats when i had my honda. I got 12+/- bulbs for like $120+/-. It was many moons ago. lol. But yeah, I definetly wanna hit them up. The bulbs were all ice blue and matched. interior and exterior. Worth it, just for simple satisfaction of synchronicity. Not really a "mod" but something thats small detail to me. I'll try and find an old package if I still have it.

could I just go to a Lexus dealership and ask for the replacement license-plate bulb? It is the same size for Lexus and MB?
Anybody tried?

I can't believe this thread came back to life. After about a year when I first played around with DION's bulbs, mine finally burned out. I bought the 39MM bulbs that were recommended and have not gotten a chance to change them with the resistor setup.

Lots of Luck

the resistor setup sucks. it'll work for a while and then one side will start blinking, and it'll do that FOREVER, even with the stock bulbs back in. This annoying message will come on the dash everytime you turn your lights on. Well thats what happened to mines

I bought from superbrightleds both 4 leds and 6 leds bulbs. (and 2x 100 ohms resistors)
The 4 leds look weak and the 6 leds too bright...

Which superbrightleds did you guys put?

Yeah, I'll get right on that! LOL. That car is still in CA, sitting in my dad's garage until I can get it shipped here (freaking snow and SL500 do not mix).

That look is outstanding, I'm gonna steal the idea.

Hey guys I recently wanted to take a closer look at my license plate light because one of them went out...the one on the left side...so I unscrewed the 2 screws holding it...but it still just sticks there..i tried taking a flathead around its edges but it wouldn't budge anywhere...i know this sounds completely idiotic but I have no idea how to get this off...on my Lexus, once you take the 2 screws off the whole thing pops right out with the bulb...any help guys? thanks in advance.
