i've been reading this thread since morning, and i'm still confused

some say the bulbs are 36mm and some say they are 39mm. i've measured my stock bulb and it was 37mm . are there any difference between the bulbs in W203 before and after face-lift, or they are the same length? will 36mm fit 100% in my 2006 w203?

which ones should i order (pic attached)?

Post-facelift - 39mm
Be careful with the HOENs, I ordered a pair from them and my left side went out quicker than the eBay ones; then again everyone seems to have varying degrees of experience with them so yours may last longer.

What do you mean small license plate or large one? Are you talking about the bulb sizing(mm's)? You should email them to confirm sizing but my W203 used the 39mm C5W, not sure about the bottom two; maybe someone can chime in on that.

Why not just get them from JBSpeed - not trying to advertise or nothing - but it would be the easiest and most convenient way for you to get what you're looking for and guarantee satisfaction.

Just search JBSpeed License plate lights - I think the thread is still somewhere on page 1 of the W203 forum.

Haven't tried em yet myself but have read mostly positive comments from that page.

my apologies guys, the JLevi ones won't work on the license plate of the w203 (they're too big). I ran a similar looking eBay bulb for a year (it was perfect) but it was smaller.

the older bulb burned out after a year (it didn't have a heatsink).

I then bought this bulb:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_3516wt_939

and it looks good. higher quality than all of the previous bulbs I've bought--good LED's and good heatsink.

I would do the JBSpeed one, but I don't want to deal with the install.

I'd be careful with the JBspeed one...the housing he sent me was the wrong housing and then insisted it was the correct one. They were in w203 packaging etc but looked nothing like my oem housings nor like other websites I found online that sold the LED housings. I ended up having to return them (given after a few emails they finally sent me a return authorization and refunded me fully)...try sonic tuning, i used their full housing replacement and I know a few others have as well on here an dthey work great. and will/should last longer than simple bulbs.

in US standart, there is a place for a small license plate, but in european standart, the place for the license plate is bigger for long plates (see pics attached with the difference). i've measured the bulb and it was 37mm. i think that 36mm will fit just fine. am i wrong?

Wow, no wonder he's not too popular around here. Had no idea about that. You should post that up in his thread so people know what they're dealing with. If there's no feedback then no-one will ever know if the product is good or bad. Thanks for mentioning that.

Can anyone help me find license plate lights that aren't too bright and maybe have a hint of blue?
Do I need 36mm or 39mm on an 07 c230?

I've used our sponsor AZNOptics LED bulbs on mine and they've worked very well for months now. He has a great warranty and is a great sponsor with very reasonable pricing. Check him out:
www.aznoptics.com or PM him.

I've gotta hit Mike up again. I think one of the bulbs has LED's going bad because it's dimmer than the other side. It's not completely out yet, cuz warning hasn't come up, but just noticed when I finally got my replacement license plates.

I have city lights from them. Aren't their license plate lights really bright? I believe I've seen pictures on here and that's what turned me away. How are yours, which ones did you get?

THE C350
I don't they they are overly bright just right IMO
BTW I do have them

I think I have the 39MM because they are a tight fit. My original set were 36MM if i am not mistaken (had an issue with first set). Best way to check is measure what is in your car i have heard there are different sizes depending on year.

Thanks for the pic!
Looks kinda bright, I wonder what it looks like on black.

Found them on black - https://mbworld.org/forums/4762562-post1.html
I think I'll just order them from aznoptics after the measurement

Anyone know where I can find dim lights in white w/ a hit of blue? IMO the aznoptics are too bright. There is a nice w204 driving around my house, it has dim white lights which on black looks bluish.

You need error free led's.

Use the search, just typing "license plate flicker" would have gotten you an answer.

Yup, I'm on my 3rd set. They don't last too long. Hoping to find another alternative.
