LEDs are Nice !!. I wish it was easier to install LED's I would jump on the same boat ! Show us some pictures of the resistors. Like most of us here, We know we need it. We're just not sure what the hell a resistor is or looks like .

The risistors I used are the normal cylindrical ones that soder on to the ciruit board, I designed the circuit boards to accomadate the resistors because I knew MB would have these complications. ALl my components are special ordered or me in china. I think I could come up with a few bulbs I use as spares for those who really want them.

PM me.

It is simple really, MB uses a system that monitors the power used or current drawn by each of it's components. Since normal bulbs draw a lot more current than LEDs, when you use a LED bulb in place ofa normal bulb, the computer will tell you that the bulbs are out as dictated by it's programming. The job of the resistor is to use up whatever current is needed for the LED bulb not to trigger the bulb out warning.

Easy enough.

Dion.

so I'm gonna try them out from DACHIGGA!

Ken, thanks so much for offering to do the group buy, but I'm gonna have to back out since I'm going to try the LED's. So, whoever wants my spot can take it!

thanks!

How about starting a group buy on your custom-made LEDs? You could probably start a production line with the mere number of people here who want LED lights! :-)...Can you smell the profit? ;-)

Just as a followup, my superbrightleds.com license plate lights came in and I put them in and they look great. Just like the new Lexus ones, all for like a buck or two apiece - with NO RESISTORS required. They have the resistors built inside the bulbs, and the bulbs themselves are a perfect drop-in replacement. I am going to go back and order the rest for the interior lights, puddle lights, etc. I think they were like $1.89 or something each plus shipping and you can get them in whatever colors you want as well as just the superbright white which is what I got. Anyway, just an option for those of you who want to try them out as they are cheap and do not require soldering anything.
