Okay, somthing is goofey. I'm connected to mitchel online and all the code charts for MB only list codes starting at P0100-to-P1747. NO P2... codes. I tried the E class, then went to C class, same charts, same # range. Whered you guys get your codes? Or maybe I should ask mitchel where they got theirs?

For '01 e 320 it shows, for example, P0100= Hot Film MAF, P0156-161=O2 sensors,P0700's=Trans and ECU codes, P0300-306=Missfires,P0200's=injectors, and so on, Lots of codes available, but not up to P2000.

I asked one of the tech's if the scanners had their own versions or somthing, he did'nt think so. We have a snap-on modis here, and it's codes so far match the on-line shop manual, witch is supposed to be a copy of all the manufactures info.(by liscence) Wierd. Love to help, sorry.

Thanks for looking into it.I tried to plug my scanner to the OBDII plug under the dash and it said no comunication, so I had to buy a new round plug to plug into the connector that's under the hood.I can comunicate or see data and I can clear codes. When I saw these two codes I didnt recognize them simply because of the high number that's why I thought that they might be Mercedes Propriaitary codes used only by Mercedes .

My scanner told me that the P2016 codes is partial load failure bank 1 and P2085 is partial load failure bank 2.
Can you or your friend look into what could cause that failure?

Okay, so I dug and dug and the best I could do was find "partial load failure Bank x" associated with code # P0170 & 0173=Self adjustment (adaptation) of mixture formation for corresponding cylinder bank (1or2) to threshold limit value of ME-SFI control module. Basically the way I read it is the car over or under adjusted fuel mixture or pressure, exceeding the preset value range in the control module. Possible causes were listed as an air leak (intake/injectors/fuel syst) or fuel injector failure, faulty fuel pressure regulator, or mechanical wear.(valves or pistons) The module is constantly monitoring and will set the mil off anytime it goes out of range. Should turn light off after 2 driving cycles as long as condition went away.

If there is a problem, my first guess would be the fuel pressure regulator, at least the C class is notorius for this component being a little edgy.

W203
P201D

P201D Selfadaptation of mixture formation, Mixture is too rich at idle speed.[P0172]

-Check prerequistites
>Lambda control enabled
>Function of self adaptation of mixture formation enabled
>Coolant temperature higher than 75'c
>No engine oil dilution due to fuel

*In order to determine a new value for the mixture formation self-adaptation, it is necessary to undertake a journey of approx 30 minutes with lambda control enabled. The coolant temperature must be less than 60'c during start.
