Sprint Booster - Car behaving like a monster and hungry for speed
Instead of buying a sprint booster and losing the ability to lightly accelerate when you want to, just push the damn pedal 3/4 of the way down! Same as having a sprint booster, you just have to push the pedal further. This way when you want to get some decent gas millage you can accelerate slowly. With the sprint booster it becomes harder to do that.
I don't own one, yet, and if I felt less than completely happy with it plenty of forum members wouldn't mind picking it up slightly used...
. To be honest, my only real concern is how much of a hit in gas mileage I'm going to take with it on - this is supposed to be our economical around town car ...... But, it's definitely a lot of fun!!!It's so easy to put on/take off, worst case I might leave it off for putting around, and then whip it on if I feel like having a little fun. Right now I'm liking the idea of putting around in 'W', and being able to switch to 'S' and take ESP off before the light changes, if desired
. But I'm an older, responsible adult, so I don't do that too often. I'll report back on this thread with gas mileage in a few weeks or so. Cheers!

Good job man.
There's tons of report from asia stating that it's just a device that imitates more throttle position. If sprint booster does yield more hp, let's see some timing, IAM, fuel, or even KC value change on the map.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
As MANY people, and the manufacturer state themselves, NO more HP/TQ. It has nothing to do with tuning the ECU. But it DOES make you car drive more 'spirited', especially off the line.
bwco - I qualified that little episode with the Neon by saying that we only got up to ~45, and noticing what a crappy driver he was. The point was that I had him off the line easily, which I don't think would have been the case without the Sprint Booster. Have you even tried one yet
? I actually bought one and am trying it, hence my feedback. Didn't you yourself make a remark on here about not believing everything you see on the internet? That's why I bought one to try, instead of believing all those 'reports from asia'. How about buying one for yourself and trying it out? Then feel free to bash it all you want, if you still feel it's just a gimmick ... BTW young buck, you're not the only one who knows how to tune ECU's. Some of us have been at this game since before you were born
.
If u've done engine tuning before, you wouldn't buy into these sprint booster harness cable. If I know that C230 can't outrun a 80's cutless, I won't let my wife buy one. But since she's using the car for grocery and shopping, it's a totally fine and nice car for her. But then, take it easy, young buck !!
). I think there are plenty on here who have done the ECU tune AND still use a Sprint Booster ... think there might be a reason??? And even if I were to have an ECU tune done (or tune myself, if there was a reasonable setup to do it with these cars), I still would consider a SB because I know what they do now. You have no clue (truthfully - not being a smart a$$). BTW, I'm not a really 'old' guy, but I have enough years behind me to keep an open mind. In time you might learn, young grasshopper ....PS - maybe you can edit your last post so the part about the 80's cutlass makes some sense?
as someone else asked, does anyone know if you can still purchase the SB easily?
Also does anyone know if they're compatible with the W204? I'm guessing not.
I'm probably gonna be selling mine in 3-5 months when I part the car out if anyone is looking for one.
But if u can't buy it, I may just keep it incase I get another W203 soon!

Hahah-- BWCO probably owns the 80's cutless and no Benz.

For what it is, it's expensive. However- where are any of us going to get those two plastic connectors? I would have to buy both of the parts in the car (not sure what they are) THEN creat the amplifier. The amplifier wouldn't be hard to reproduce- it would be the connectors that would make it an expensive venture for me to recreate.

Coming from an E46 M3, the SB does exactly what the 'Sport' button does, only thing is that it's not switchable like that on the M3. It doesn't improve horsepower but it does spice up drivability, significantly.
This graph explains it all
