I really don't know, got the usual mods 181 CP, tune, headers, ic mod, and some minor stuff, the peddle is just sensitive you have to get used to it..

Pushing down on the throttle without SB installed doesn't perform exactly or anything remotely to having one installed. You have to have some understanding of this technology. It's binary, not mechanical. Embedded software vs. Mechanical. (Theres a difference). So if your talking throttle cables, you couldnt install SB even if you wanted to. Only works with cars with throttle-by-wire, not on cars with mechanical throttle linkages at the foot pedal.
I know my wife's w203 2005 is throttle-by-wire, but prior to 2005 I dont know the if it is the same or not.
I am not here to convince the nay sayers...just stating the facts since I have one installed and know how it performs. I agree with you and your position, so don't get one.

If you don't like it, fine - don't buy it. If you do like it and think it's worth the money, buy it. It's really that simple.

SB
I understand that is all it does, but it feels better, it use to feel like I had a slight delay every time I would push the peddle, but not any more,, its about like getting better brakes, they really don't stop faster but it feels better when you don't have to push on them as hard to get a reaction, its about that simple...

Yeah, you're right better to arrive in style..

Just installed!
Ok so I just finished installing a sprint booster on my 06 c230 sport and I have to say YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE! It is like night and day! I got it on sale on amazon for $307 and got it the next day! Best investment I've ever made for my MB.

I've never tried it. I use to be a bandwagon guy and bash it. But the more I read the more I want to give it a try. I really don't mind if it amplifies the signal and it's just the "feel". It if feels good why not

Researched my SB for a long time before pulling the trigger. I am NOT affiliated in any way. I have a C230K incidently. Pic below. Ordered and had it in two days. I have had LOTS of tunes and LOTs of chips. I know what the device does. All that I will add to the discussion is that before adding the SB my sport/comfort button didn't do ***** in my opinion. Nothing that I could notice. I also went through the throttle reset prior to install. If you want a freebie, do that first. It does erase the memory of pedal operation over the years and adds a bit more Pep. After adding the SB today, the car is different. Much different. You can hit the comfort button and drive pretty much like the car did after the throttle reset. Fun but conservative. In sport mode now the pedal response is instant and will go to redline at half throttle, just like my M3 does in sport mode. I say 100% worthwhile in my opinion. Just my .02. For what it is worth...

I got a similar controller for Momma's RAV4. As was said above, it reprograms the response of the throttle vs accelerator pedal. But the I-Throttle I got has a series of response curves to select from -- either faster initially or slower initially. So the first part of pedal movement can give either quicker or slower throttle opening. Then the bottom half of pedal movement is the opposite so all the response curves arrive at full throttle for full pedal. The quicker throttle action also seemed to provide quicker downshifts in an auto trans.
The RAV4 issue was the opposite of what many of you are after -- initial throttle response, coming off idle, is pretty abrupt in the Toyota. So a slower initial response took the edge off that. Smoother starts for Momma who's not very subtle with the pedal.
It also tagged into the brake light circuit to close the throttle when brakes are applied. Remember Toyota's "unintended acceleration?"
For the C230K Coupe with manual trans, I'll stick with the original. I think an occasional strong launch and pull to the redline in 1-2 will keep the computer from forgetting what I want. :-)

It really doesn't, honestly. I've got the same thing as you and the SB helps with throttle feel.
BTW - for those who don't know, our SBs are now a three-option unit with a minicontroller (stock, quick, and too quick - I've got mine on the middle, with the button velcroed next to the HVAC - turn it back to stock when I take it in, which is an all too common occurrance).

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
I put it on my 2014 E63S and while it did not get rid of the throttle lag... It did nicely improve throttle response which makes up for the throttle delay a bit... $300 is a wash... I'll keep it

Sprint Booster more aggressive AFTER ecu tune
Guys,
I installed this gadget "sprint booster" a module that is made in europe on my SLK 200 (M271) and my vehicle is behaving a monster. The throttle response is unbelievable when it comes to acceleration. It is just like having a well tune ECU in your vehicle.
Some fellows have installed this module in their C32 AMG and C55 AMG and the response is amazing..
Go try it and you will love it for sure...

Hi All;
Would like to chime into this discussion.
I'm a huge fan of sprintbooster, and have installed on my previous and current car.
On my previous car, a Lexus sc430, the SB made a huge and instantaneous difference.
BUT on my 2005 Mercedes c230 Sport Sedan 1.8L, SB was only slightly noticeable.
Then I got a eurocharged ecu tune, and not SB makes a HUGE difference!
Not sure why, but maybe because there is more power and the improved throttle response magnifies ..

I installed a pedalbox..same principle..more settings (which I never use...set it once..leave it)

I hope you are making all of these deductions after actually having driven a vehicle equipped with it. If so, then I can respect your opinion highly, however, if not, your definition is just mommy's apron to hide behind while trying to prove your point. I spent $200 to alter the feel of my car and it puts a smile on my face every time I step on the gas. I spent $30K on a fancy motorcycle that still hasn't produced that same smile. $200 well spent my friend.
Dealer explain me that the only think this gadget is doing, is to cheat the ECU from idle to 4000 revs changing the butterfly angle for quicker response.
No power increase just the feeling that you have a wire and not an electronic controlled throttle.
However, after 100K some related components start to fail. 1st the throttle body, then TPS, then MAF.
I did reset ECU and all was OK, but after a while problems again.
To sort my words I test all combinations with or without SB and above components.
As a result I can say that SB after 100K and so km's causes problems to throttle body ( unstable idle and misfiring on a highway) so I decide to take it out. But no complain for the time was on the car.
