Sprint Booster - Car behaving like a monster and hungry for speed

This is BS. Anyone can cobble up a POS like this. No parameters are stated - repeatability is probably +- 20%

old news, but i was pleasantly reminded this morning:
i reset my throttle this morning on the way to work... and in combination with the sprint booster i almost forgot how much of a difference this makes.
when i just reset the throttle w/o this thing, i could barely tell the difference. its much more dramatic with it.
bump for fellow manual mb drivers...

Generally, the choices are:
A) I have never tried it, but I will sh*t on the idea just because I want to
B) I have it, realize that it won't make my car faster, but it does make my car a little more fun to drive
Not too many people who have gone through the purchase regret it. That should tell you something.
Now I wait for Glyn to do the "not this sh*t again" image in his follow-up response.

What is an opinion is that I think it's borderline con-artist to charge $300 for something that is arguably going to be even less effective than the completely ineffective tornado contraption you put in your intake. At least that is probably $39.95, and they'll double your order and give you a free flashlight. Since neither are going to make your car faster, what is the case for buying them? Placebo effect? Not for that kind of money.
You know what makes my W203 feel better and more fun to drive? A thorough detail. That's my kind of placebo - and it's a damn sight cheaper than a $300 signal amplifier.

Sprint Booster is a waste of money. I use to see a lot of these sold on the classifieds. I guess people regret buying it or should I say getting ripped off.
Here stright from the Sprint Booster Website

Now you see why this thing is a piece of crap??? Save you money..just my 0.2 cents

Faster Throttle Response
Sprint Booster makes your car's throttle respond faster to your foot. As a result, your gas pedal actually achieves a full throttle response 25% sooner than the stock configuration. Even if you have a 'sport' button, Sprint Booster will quicken the throttle response time. By making the throttle respond faster to your input, you will feel as though your car has more muscle than it really does!
• Sprint Booster does not increase Horsepower.
• Sprint Booster does not reduce your 0-60mph times.
• Sprint Booster DOES make your car 'FEEL' faster.
• Sprint Booster is not for everyone.

Is Sprint Booster for everyone? Of course not, no performance product ever is. If you have a track car where you spend most of your time near redline, Sprint Booster is not for you - Sprint Booster benefits are felt in the low to mid pedal travel. Some people don't like the fact that Sprint Booster reaches full throttle before full pedal travel - if you routinely mash the throttle to the floor, Sprint Booster may not be for you.
Sprint Booster is most effective in the low to mid rpm range, which is where most 'street' cars are driven on a daily basis. Yes, you may need to adjust your driving style after installing Sprint Booster - but that is a short learning curve. Sprint Booster will put the 'fun' back into your daily drive.

Yipee, I press 1/4 throttle and now my car thinks I'm pressing 3/4 and all for 300 bucks...I'm such a winner

But you know, I concede the C-class has terrible throttle response - the worst I've ever experienced. I wish there was something that could be done. But I'm not going to be conned into something cheap amplifier that has a 96,000% profit margin, either. And like Karo pointed out, it makes the last 25% of pedal travel pointless.
SB admits that it has no advantages performance wise so there really is no argument. It is akin to buying placebo pills and taking them because you like to take pills knowing full well it'll have no health benefit at all. So, if you like the SB, that's what matters. What I (and Karo) are telling a potential target for this con is that he can find many, many better uses for his money.
I'm not saying anyone who has one and likes it is "wrong", per se. An object is "worth" whatever one is willing to pay for it. I am saying that logically it makes zero sense.

I have tried it, cast-off from a friend that wasted his money & did not like it. It made my car more difficult to drive smoothly in traffic & I did not like the dead pedal over the last 50% of travel.
It is now deposited in his junk bin containing fuel magnetisers/consumption enhancers & other such crap.

Infiniti cars have very aggressive throttle tip in.. I would not want the Benz to behave that way. As Glyn says it does make it more difficult to drive smoothly.

Kleemann has some type of throttle crap like that. Anyone know how it works?

& before someone asks - yes it was the SB for automatics. At that time SB made separate units for autos & MT.
If you want to taylor throttle responses. A decent ECU tuner can do it more usefully.

$300 aint' that much - how many other mods could you do for a Benz in that price range?

Personal taste has nothing to do with cold, hard logic. But this subject matter has been beaten into the ground.
IDK about the mods you can do for a Benz for $300 but a little more than double that will get you 60hp and 60tq out of a 135i

No SB needed.. the 135i always behaves like a monster hungry for speed. It's quite ridiculous at times, actually. A Turbo'd Eclipse raced me the other day in the 135i.. I paced him from 0-80 just to taunt then left him as though he were sitting still. Karo, it'll put you in jail faster than any jailbait girl.
