Special Screen Data Interpretation

I have a 2005 C230 Kompressor Sports Sedan. Today, I tried pushing the trip odometer reset button three times while the key was in Position I and I got into the "special mode" where I can see "UB 12.1V" (I assume this screen means battery voltage), I also see a ESP Dynometer screen, my VIN number screen, and last but not least, a screen that lists some data in it.

What is this data? What does it represent?

I couldn't see very clearly but it seemed to have the following prompts:
SW
Ver
MW
Nr
..
OL
M271

Any information would be appreciated.

I give you a hint, but for the rest you need to STFF: M271 is your engine designation.

Dyno Mode

Hey Patric

You have initiated the Dyno mode. You can turn off your ESP / BAS system and spin / burn some rubber if you want to.

Another thing you can do is to put to that oil measure mode and then drive with it. and you will see how much the oil pressure changes in the engine......

try it all, it's fun. Just becareful with the ESP though.

I don't see anything about oil pressure. I see a symbol that looks like "ol" with two dots on top of the "o". Looks like:

..
Ol: 5.5l

Does that mean my oil pan has about 5.5 liters of oil in it?

Also, regarding the ESP dynoamometer program, there are two functions, I don't understand what they mean:
+ ON - I know what this means
- w.term 15 off - What does this mean? This seems to be the default setting.

quick question

On my car (06' 280), on the very bottom of the screen, it said A 203. Just wondering if its the same thing as W203.

5.5l does = the amount of oil in your oil pan. ON means you're in DYNO mode. w-term 15 off = wait term 15 minutes until DYNO mode is in the off mode again.

Just out of curiousity, does the c230 have enough power to burnout? I swear if you have an automatic it's even more true.

Exclamation oil pressure

Hey Patric

you have to leave it on that screen (menu) and start to Rev. your engine, that way you see how much pressure is there in the engine via the oil level. It's cool but make sure you are keeping an eye on the road..... last time I did this, there was a cop behind me i was scared!!!

I don't suppose this works for the 2006 C230 SS?

I have never span out with my C230 ever in my life. The only exception was in wet rainy weather during take off from a stop light.

Even the E320, doesn't spin out on dry clean asphalt. It does in the wet however if you're not careful.

Both of these are in normal S mode, first gear, and automatic transmission. I couldn't spin the rears out even if I stepped on the gas pedal very liberally.

It really takes an E430 to do a proper spin out. I doubt even the C350 can actually spin out in the dry.

I've driven the W210 E55, that thing just spins out everywhere. The instant you're slightly more liberal with the gas pedal, it spins out. I'm sure your C55 is the same way.

The good thing about the C230 is that the tires are very much conserved.

I think it would work for the 2006 model. You'll have a bigger oil tank. Try it out and let us know.

Steps:
1. Insert the key and turn to first click (position 1).
2. Assure that you are in the normal odometer menu on the center display. you should see your trip odometer and total odometer.
3. Press the reset button three times very quickly. Should nothing happen on the screen, try pressing the button another three times.
4. The instrument cluster's center display should have a new screen pop up that is different and unfamiliar.

Cool, it worked! Hey, I've got an M272 engine!

Yes it's very possible, you don't even need to put it in DYNO mode. Just ESP off. If you guys are really that curious about it I could get a video .
