I can only get about 250-260 miles per FULL tanks of gas. Meaning 15.xx gallons per fill up. BTW i have a kleemann blower and evosport pullies. does this sound about right? I also drive in LA traffic....

I get about 24-28. No mods. Our traffic is nothing like LA. I would guess your problem is the traffic.

your supercharger and the pulley both kill your gas mileage.

I had 18-19 mpg avg before installing teh Evosport pulley kit. Now, it's down to 16.5 mpg. Only 210 miles for 13+ gallon of gas. Believe it or not I'm also driving heck of a lot slower on the highway to keep the supercharger from coming on.

btw, pictures of your car pls.

I have an 05 C230 Kompressor Sports Sedan. No major modifications. Very light trunk, the car is usually empty.

I have a good mix of both city and highway driving, although I'd say more highway.
I also have excellent driving habits, I use the gasoline sparingly, I engage cruise control at 62.5 mph on the highway most of the time, and I usually drive under the speed limit since I believe in keeping the engine RPMs as low as possible even in top gear.
When accelerating, I rarely hit or exceed 3000 RPMs on the tach and I try to use the brakes as sparingly as possible.
And I check my tire pressure weekly.

However, I would say I only average about 26 to 27 mpg (measured at the pump). Road conditions are so so, I rarely have the A/C on, and I rarely use the brake and I just let the car slow down gently by slowly removing my foot off the gas pedal.

On the highway, the car's computer says I've gotten 36 mpg before. I have my doubts. I also reset my Trip Computer at every fill up. The computer usually overestimates the MPG I've gotten. Can this be because of a foul up in the programming of the computer? Is it possible that the computer is set to Imperial gallons instead of US Gallons?

I'm not complaining with 26-27 MPG. However, considering how careful I drive, I'm surprised that it's so low.

Hello,

I'm currently driving a 2001 C240 myself with over 67K+ miles on it overall. I was getting about a little over 20+ mpg combination city/hwy driving. The only mods i performed after that were a free flowing exhaust and replaced the 2 paper air filters with K+N's. This maybe crazy, but i've been gauging the mpg's after the mods and it seems i'm getting to about 23.1 and never below 21 over a 3mo span. I haven't changed my driving habits (habits being that i drive aggressively) and have yet to perform a fuel injector service.

Oh and to stay parallel with this thread, i get to 1/4 gas tank with 220 miles logged in. Hope this helps.

Happy modding!

a C240 with a kleeman blower? Just curious...how much of a difference does it really make?

This is how many miles I drove on one tank (minus the reserve, the last 2 gallons).

That tank is all highway driving. Looks like you made a long trip. 415 miles in 6 hours, that's like going from LA to SF.

I hope you actually got 29.0 MPG. When my car says I get 29.0 MPG, it really is probably only getting 27.0 MPG. I think the computer is either inaccurate or programmed for Imperial Gallons instead of US Gallons.
