"brake lineing wear Visit workshop"

I was driveing to Cedar Point , OH today and the "brake lineing wear" poped up on the dash board. I stays there all the time now.
What does this mean. I will have to drive back home before I can have the car checked out.

Haha, I just got back from a wedding in Rochester @ royal park hotel.

Was CP busy? I'm debating if I should go during the week now or wait until Sept when kids are back in school.

I live 1.5 miles from the Royal Park.
Small world. We did not go today. My whife is kind of scared of it. So we only got here at about 4-5 pm. We will go tomorow. I'll be here for 2 more days. It's our first time here and I like it a lot. We went to a beech today and some guy let me ride his water jet and that was great.

Thank you. I looked at them today and they are woren out but I thought that when that happens you get a "brake pads wear" thing.
I was thinking that one of my brake lines was broken and I was going to lose fluid but I checked that too and the fluid is all there.

I think your brakes should make it back to Rochester, but if you're worried, stop into a dealership (I think there's one close to Sandusky...)

If she's scared, don't take her on Millenium Force or Top Thrill Dragster... Have fun at Cedar Point!

Your brake pad sensor has activated indicating you need to change the pads as soon as practical (as nlpamg noted). The trip home should be uneventful. Go gently on the brakes and you'll have no problem. A highway trip will wear them down less than a short hop through the city. There is still an ample "safety margin" built into the brake design. Usually, I have to wait two weeks just for an appointment.

Thank You.
Anyone knows where to get the sensor for the pads?
I will buy the autozone pads and install them myself.
We got back from Cedar Point and the car was fine. It was a lot of fun there and I will deffinetly go back there this summer.

My wife's display just started showing this tonight. Anyone know offhand of an online retailer that provides an OE kit, something along the lines of Brembo blanks and Axxis pads with a sensor? There's a place here in CA that puts a kit together relatively cheap for the Bimmers, www.ajusa.com.

Get them from the dealer, they are very inexpensive. The OEM pads are a bit more, but I like them better than the Autozone pads. They don't wear as fast.

what about crossed-drilled and slotted rotors? less heat/friction = better stopping power

Update

I replaced my brake pads with autozone ones and they are great. While I was at it I painted the callipers red and I love the way it looks. They are not brembo or AMG but they shure look a lot bether than stock.
I have a problem with my parking brake tho. The left rear wheel does not work anymore because the cable sliped out of the housing. I do not know how to get to it since is located behind the rear axle.
Any sugestions are apreciated highly.
thank you all.

I feel that slotted rotors are good in that they act like a blanchard grinder to keep the pad surface smooth and even. Desirable on street cars.

Drilled rotors have their place in racing, but outside the high speed of competition, they have little value. They do tend to cause cracks in the plate around the hole. Small cracks upto 1 inch are not a problem, but why risk a brake failure to make a fashion statement?

I just did front brake pads from Stealership for $242. They also changed the brake fluid.

That is a lot. I paid like 64 for the pads all arrownd and put them on myself. It should not take more than 45 min for the job. The sensor was 5 -6 $.
I did spend a lot of time painting the callipers.
