Ok guys, I know that drex and alot of you are PRO PRO TEIN guys, but what if you had a choice? I can get brand new tein basics or H&R that are used for the same price around 850 not installed.
What do yall think?

Both of them are the same type of setup. Many people who have bought the H&R coilovers, complained of harshness, however there have been a few that feel that the Basics are stiff as well.

If you compare what each of the setups are worth "brand new", the H&R's are more expensive. So based on "price", the H&R's are a better deal. The $850 price is close to the price of brand new Basics. That price is nowhere near the price of brand new H&R's.

If you are performance type guy go with Teins since they stiffen up your ride about 25-35% more in my opinion. I heard H&R's arent that stiff at all. I guess H&R's would be great for that dropped look without influencing much of the comfort of the car.

but would u say that they both lower your car the same?? and they just are different as far as stiffness?

Since your options are not ride adjustable I'd go with the H&R over the Tein Basics. I have the basics on my Integra and they drive me nuts sometimes. They rebound pretty hard. People on the C32/C55 forum have said the H&R's are actually softer riding than the stock AMG suspension so they should ride pretty good.

get the TEIN SS, the shocks damping is adjustable, you can go to super stiff or "close to stock comfort". too bad there'e no edfc available for our car, that would have been cool. they go for $1400 msrp, $1200 would be a good price.

I'd go with Tein, it's more stiff but the performance is better. Also, H&R will give you a lower drop in the rear than the Tein. However, Tein will give you a lower drop in the front.

I have Tein FLEX on my WRX, stiff as hell, if you are after performance on the tracks, go with Tein, otherwise, H&R for the streets.

I think you're referring to the regular H&R springs. I haven't seen the coilovers do that. Refer to Jonji's (jo17jC230's) car since he has H&R coilovers. You'll see the front isn't higher than the rear.

with H&R's you can balance out the front/rear to be level [if you so choose] with XXmm shims/spacers.

its just a matter of personal opinion and pref. i've heard nothin but good things on the H&R Cup Kit. But heard a lot about the Teins as well. seems like a pretty balanced opinion. guess it just comes down to the prettiness. lol

I thought TEINS were ride adjustable?

They are both height adjustable and both non-damper adjustable.

Only the Tein SS are ride adjustable not the Basics.

I say Tein basics, im riding on them, and i love the over-all feel and performance, it almost feels stock except better handling. But thats my opinion

Regarding H&R CO,I think the ride quality is pretty good for CO suspension and I know because my friend (SEXPEHERE) has them..I have been in his car couple times and not bad

hey guys just wanted to give you an update: I am going with the teins. I looked at the H and R's and the guy on ebay had some negative feedback about broken parts, so I didnt want to get screwed with some coilovers that were not working properly or had missing parts (bushings, etc) so I just went with the tiens. I should be paying about 1000-1050 installed.

Ill post wednesday night with my new teins in!

H&R has a softer ride than the TEIN basic and has more height adjustability however the H&R sport coilover everyone use is usually for looks only. The TEIN basic will perform a little better.

the TEIN Superstreet is best between the three choices. with ride you can adjust the damper to be soft and can lower to good height.

darn one day too late. i would rather the ride height adjustability, than performance. ah well - anyone want to buy a new set of teins ?
