Question re: Audio 10 cd unit from EBay vs new one from autoclass
I wanted to get the audio 10 head unit from autoclass.net, but they want over $600 for it.
From reading the other posts, you guys got yours from ebay for alot less $$$.
Have any of you experienced anything wrong with the unit from ebay since it's not brand new?
I never buy anything used but I don't want to pay that much $$$$.
Any input would be appreciated.

My first Audio 10 was a bust as it was packaged poorly and the CD mechanism got jammed in transit. I sent it to Becker in N.J. about 2 months ago and they are still working on it. I got bored after a week and bought another one and that one is fine. Based on people that got them, I would say your odds are about 1 in 4 for a dud. Also be prepared to wait about a month between the bidding process, sending wire transfers and shipping unless you want to pay a lot for faster shipping. It's your dime. I'll have the refurbished unit from Becker with a 90 day warranty for sale when it comes back but I already have 2 people that want it.
You can give the seller a bad rating on E-Bay but that won't solve the problem if your unit gets damaged in shipping. Trying to make a claim with the German P.O. is not something I wanted to try either.

Mine arrived fine. I paid a total of $265 with shipping and c2it.com wire fee. It arrived within two weeks, but my seller sent it out before he got confirmation of the money in his account. I just forwarded him my confirmation from c2it.com and he shipped it.

Mine was fine, too. Arrived in a factory box, nicely packaged, no wear and tear (although w/o a manual - no biggie, really); the transaction was smooth and the person I bought it from was very nice to deal with.
When I learned I had won the auction, after some deliberation, I had decided to simply send cash (US$) in a bubble-padded envelope
It worked just fine.
I love it, BTW -- it's so much better than the stock unit.

the only problem i've experienced with mine is sometimes when i turn it on, no sound will come out and the cd does not spin up. this occurs once every... 30 times or so. just turn it off and back on and it works. not bad for a player that i bought for 1/3 the retail price.

I gave up after seeing that everything is in German I guess. I don't even know what anything says. Anyways, my boyfriend rather me get a brand new one from autoclass. Doesn't matter, I just want to get rid of the casette player.

1. go to http://www.ebay.de
2. search for "audio 10 W203", make sure you check the box called "in Artikelbezeichnung und Beschreibung"
3. when you get your search results, click on an auction and change the URL from "www.ebay.de" to "www.ebay.com"
you'll now have everything in english except for the description. just look for "audio 10", "mercedes" and "W203" and a pic and you're set.
