How does everyone roll with 19"s and Tein Coilovers?

Hi guys, i purchased a 04 c230k last week and starting doing some mods on the vehicle. I slapped on the Tein Basic Coilovers this weekend. My problem is that the rears are rubbing like crazy. I did a search to find out some answers but the most common one was to check your offset. The wheels are 35mm which is what most of the people have on here. Can anybody suggest anything else? the installer recommended to go down to 255 but that in my opinion is going to look funny. This is the first time i've ran into a problem like this. The fenders have allready been rolled. I read in a post that Toyo tires don't rub, is this true? i don't want to fork over $$ for the Toyo's if it doesn't fix the problem. ANY suggestions from members that have fixed the problem would be greatly appreciated.

what size tire you have in there rear? 265 shouldn't be any problem. 275 is a problem. how wide is the wheel in the rear? 19x9.5 or 19x10?

i'm rolling with the usual staggered setup
19 x 8.5 - 235/35/19 35mm Perelii p7000
19 x 9.5 - 265/30/19 35mm Perelli p7000
I don't understand what's going on? most of the posts i've read people are allright with the 265's and Tein's

on my old c class W202 chasis, i had rear rubbing issues on a 18x9 with 265/30 running pirelli pzero asumetricos, i didnt keep the car long enough to swap tires out but the (blad) tires that were on the wheels when i bought them were falkens and did not rub at all. btw the car was pretty low, tuck in the rear. i would suggest differnt tires, maybe go to a tire store and look for one with a more rounded side wall toyo/yokohama/michilin

*edit* i notice you are in Diamond Bar, why dont you hit up FrankW, i'm sure he can help you out.

I'm lowered on Teins along with 19's with no rubbing at all. I have 19x8 fronts with 235/35 and 19x10 rears with 265/30's.

I'm not sure about the P7000 side wall, but I know that there are many tires out there with a more agressive roll on the sidewalls that might help your situation.

Good luck!

Falkens or Toyos should be ok with no rubbing since the sidewall is not as squared as the Pirelli P7's. Sell me you P7's cheap after you switch

thanks for the info guys
appleguy - what tires are you running in the rear?
MikeSS - Ya no doubt, the tires are yours when i replace them.
SlvrC230 - The ride is smooth, except that it is lower, 10x's better than my cup kit.
I tried to pm Frank but his box is full, i'll try back later today

You can switch tyre to Falken or Toyo, i recomend Toyo. Falken looks funny since it strecth in too much, Toyo has perfect shape. Falken also has lower load rating, 89.

Any Toyo tire? or do guys recommend a specific Toyo
Mike - i'm going to put a FEELER for the tires, you got first dibs though if you want them.

The Toyo T1R or T1S has the "dump friendly" sidewalls.

I'm running a 32 offset on the rear.

Another thing to consider. Are your rear fenders rolled from factory? They started rolling the rear fender from factory for the 2004.5 - present models, in order to fit the 5 spoke staggered 17's.

If the fenders aren't rolled, then that's a definite must do.

Pirelli P7000s have a yucky sidewall and are terrible tires... I'd go with Toyo T1-Rs

curious, if u have tein basic coil over, why don't you increase the height at the back a little so it doesn't tub in? which u have less to worry about rubbing issue

i like the way most of the people that have teins have that "tucked in" look and i was trying to accomplish that. I'm gonna get some Falkens or Toyo's tomorrow, hopefully this fixes everything. What do you guys prefer Toyo's T1R's or Falken's GRB's???

I recently had to raise my rear by about 1/2" for this very issue. It got to the point where my camber would straighten out when I cornered hard and causing it to rub very slightly. I knew how to drive the car so it wouldn't happen but still annoying.

try to pinpoint where exactly its rubbing... you may need to shave down somewhere or cut some of the felt fender lining off... I used to run Pirelli P7000's and had my car pretty slammed in the back and I had absolutely no rubbing at all even during hard cornering
