dont mean to hijack the the thread, but i didnt realize there were so many other members from S. fla on here. I wish there were more benz shows goin on. I used to go a lot of the mustang shows, but i rarely see any for mercedes and/or european cars. (besides Tower shops)

Sounds good to me...I know about 3 or 4 benz owners that would be down. I am pretty sure that if we hold a benz gathering down here that we would have a good turn out.

I found some rims on tirerack called ASA ST4 Silver that look almost identical to the TSW Bremma's I was looking at...they have the ASA ST4's on closeout pricing for $199.99 per rim / the same price I found the TSW Bremma's for. I know that many people have said that the TSW Bremma's are heavier rims so here are some more questions...

Questions time:
1) What is the weight of the stock sport rim on a 2005 C230 SS?

2) Does anybody know the weight of the 18' inch TSW Bremma's rim?

3) Is there a difference between the 2 rims posted below? (ASA ST4 and TSW Bremma's) If so, what are they? (opinions are welcomed) I did of course notice that the ASA ST4's rear rims has an offset of +32mm and the TSW Bremma's rear rims has an offset of 35mm. Does this not make a difference or is one offset better than the other?

i would pick A, because i would not want to buy a set of rims that only half fit. the rears will not fit in B.
Also, ASA wheels are good quality. They are made by BBS.

People who have bought the ASA's were unable to clear the front big brake kits on C32, and 2004.5+ C230's. I haven't heard anyone having clearance problems with the Bremmas.

EDIT: The rears on the Bremmas have the wrong bolt dimensions. You need 5x112.

There's no purpose in voting. Bremma fits without spacers, ASA doesn't. All you need to do is get the right rears and you're set.

ASA are licensed by BBS, but not made by BBS. They use a different factory to produce the ASA wheels to keep the labor down.

Blake P - first off thank you for all your input regarding my questions...
I asked Luke @ tirerack if the ASA rims I mentioned in my previous post would fit on my stock 2005 C230 SS...and his response is below...

1) Will they fit my stock 2005 C230 SS without a problem and will they clear my front brakes? Yes, they fit with no issues

Not trying to prove anyone wrong here but I know you stated that these rims would not clear my front brakes...could luke @ tirerack be wrong?

Additional feedback from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

Just want to be 100% confident that the rims that I order fit my car...

Unless ASA changed the offsets they were using, I don't think they'll clear your brakes. Here's a thread from a while back that confirmed fitment issues. https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...ght=asa+spacer
Also, I have a friend with a clk who had the same rubbing issues with his ASA's after being assured by Tire Rack that they would fit.

ASA ST4 will clear the c32 brakes. i have them on my car now, 18x8 and 18x9

I just looked on the Tire Rack website and it lists the front offset as 32ET, so I figure they must have worked out the fitment issues by changing to a lower offset. Good luck!

Blake P - Wow! those threads really do make me worry...

I wonder why for some people's AMG/Sports Sedan they fit...(such as rlee02135) and for some it doesn't?

I would like to get the ASA rims over the Bremmas because I heard they were much lighter / plus I don't see the Bremmas on tirerack...and if I buy the rims from tirerack I get the mounting and balancing included. (at least that is what is says during checkout)

But with all the good points that Blake P bring up I don't know...

They should, but obviously I can't make any guarantees. If they say mount and balance is included, all you should have to do when you get them is remove the old wheels and bolt on the new ones! Hopefully they use the OEM lugs or you get the right ones with your order. You might want to give Luke@TireRack a call and make sure.

So I got a set of TSW Rims today...

18x9.5 ET 35 Rear and 18x8 ET 32 front...

Fronts hit the caliper and the backs, besides the bolts being slightly too long, I'm worried about rubbing on the inner fender. With the car lifted the the edge of the rim is pretty close to the inner fender lining (no tires on the rims just yet). I obviously couldnt put the car down to check what its like at normal ride. Anybody's expert advice or experience would greatly be appreciated...

I cant get the wheel with a different offset for the front other than 32 or 45, so I guess I'm going to have to go with a spacer on that to get it away from the caliper. Dont want to but...

The backs... I dont know what to do!!! I dont know if they fit or not... Bolts not a problem, I can grind them down to fit. The wheel turns, but I hear a clicking noise which sounds like the thin metal gaurd behind the rotor so I would assume it is just barely touching.

for the fronts, try a 3mm or 5mm spacer. should be fine with a spacer that small.
for the rears, you can try to go with a 255/35/18 tire, like the Falken 452

Wow, I'm surprised that the fronts with ET32 don't clear your brakes!

The rear should fit if you don't go wider than a 255. I'm running 235 and with wheels 2 mm more out and they clear easily, but you're going to be out 8mm more than I am now with the 255.

If you want to go staggard, keep in mind that these cars tend to undesteer and getting larger rear tires is just going to make that worse. Yes the stock wheels are staggard, but this was for looks on the C230, more than anything else. If you are not into pushing your car to handle at its limits, it wont make a difference other than not being able to rotate the wheels.

The stock sport funnel spoke wheels weigh 22.5F/23.5R on my bathroom scale.

How about bump steer, any? I planning on getting big brakes and it seems that I'll need to get ET32 wheels if not going with the AMG wheels. Thanks.

Seems 28-30ET is a better range to go for big brake clearance.

Ok... I cant find the spacers anywhere... Evosport has them but I'm not paying $66 for 2nd day shipping... thats way too much. PureMS has them, but they wont ship until Jan. 2nd. And the only place in NY that sells the H&R Spacers has to order them and will take a week+...

Anybody know where to get these damn things quickly?
