Well...after having my 2005 C230 Sports Sedan now for about 20 months I am starting to want new rims. I know that I want 18's and that I would probably like some type of newer AMG replica. So I was hoping you guys can help me out before I start seriously shopping by making me a bit more knowledgeable...
- Should I buy 18' inch rims that are offset since that is what the car came with?...if yes...what kind of offset should I be looking for with 18' inch rims?
- Any brands that I should stay away from that anyone may know about?
- Any good places in South FL (Palm Beach County to MIA) to go rim shopping?
- Any recommendation on what looks good on our cars?
- And where is the best place to sell the standard 17' inch sport rims that my car came with? And possibly would anybody here be interested in them?
I plan on keeping this car for a while so I really want to make the right choice with the rims.
Thank you for any help in advance!

You're in FLA, go with 19's. I never see any pot holes down south.
Staggard is also the way to go. 19x8 to 8.5 FRONT and 19x9 to 10 in the rear. Slight modifications required for 10's.
your good with any brand, replicas are even made very well if you're on a budget.

If you are interested in AMG replicas, we have a whole host of options in 18'' that would work perfectly for your car. A few ideas:

I would like to get 19's but I am afraid of loosing a lot of the ride quality, and I don't want to have to deal with spacers ans stuff like that...and yes even though the potholes down here in south FL aren't as bad as up north, we still have some bad ones
I like the 18' inch AMG wheels like the 2005 C55 came with...
Nick, do you have the above AMG replica without the bolts / bullets?
(Valdes - I sent you a PM)
Thanks again to all that replied...

PsssTkid - I would probably sell my rims and tires which probably have another good 6-8 months left of use to the best offer. I don't know what the 17' sport wheels are going for...all I can tell you is that my rims are in very good condition / I am a car fanatic so I take very good care of my car - garage kept - and I only have put around 19,000 miles on my car after having it for about 21 months. I would prefer to sell my rims here on the forum, I hate the whole e-bay thing.
I know I would price the rims to sell...I hate waiting forever to sell something.
I am probably going to pull the trigger and get new rims in the next 4-6 weeks...don't want to rush - I am planning on keeping my car for a while so I am really going to look hard for just the right set.
Anybody here have a C230 sports sedan with AMG (replica or not) rims on it? (the C55 / C32 AMG rims)

i was in the same situation as you 6 months ago. i got myself a set of 18" AMGs from someone on the forum. i didnt wnat to go replica so i paid more for the real thing. replicas are alright for the price. you can probably sell your 17's for $900 if the rubber is still good and the rims are in perfect condition. i sold my sport rims for $900 CND before i got the 18's but i had a lot of tread and the rims were in mint condition.
good luck. - go for real AMGs

14cue- how much did you pay for your 18' inch AMG wheels? Are they staggered? I would like to get real AMG's but I don't want to leave a whole in my wallet. By the way - your car looks sweet! That is the way I want my car to look...(my car is silver though)
I am not sure if the bullets around the AMG replica (like yours) would like nice or not? I did see on germancarfans.com that MB is coming out with limited edition AMG's with the bullets around the same kind of rim - as in the first pic above.

white and whiter
you can get a set of the C55 18" with tires for around $1300-1500. It's pretty much the same price or less as brand new 19" replicas with some kind of tires.
If you are looking for 18" to begin with definitely look for used C55 or SLK55 wheels.

i got mine from a well known forum member. i dont want to say how much - lets just say i got a good decent deal and i am **** about the quality. so, if they were not perfect (which they are), i would rather go new. like frank said you can get them new with tires for just over $1,500. i know that tirerack was having a special on them. they're 18's so not have the 2 piece look to them, only the 19's do
![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
give these guys a try > http://www.tirerack.com/
go new bro.

No Wur E - Nice ride! Those rims look sweet. My standard sport rims are getting a bit 2 popular for me...I get mad since I am starting to see them everywhere. I want my car to be a bit different...and I just wish that I can find some replica's of those exact same wheels without the bullets surrounding the rim. I would like to get real AMG wheels, so I am going to try and be patient and see if I can find a good deal somewhere...Thanks again for the pics

What do you think about these rims I found on e-bay? Is $699.99 a good price for this set?...and will 18x8 (front) and 18x9 (rear) fit nicely with my car being stock?
Thanks in advance for your input!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
I know this auction ended earlier today so I hope you can still see the rims.
Thanks in advance for your input!

Thanks for the feedback Blake P...
So I should keep the front to 28-32ET offset right? How about the rear?
Since people on this forum have suggested to keep the staggered setup this is what I found...
TSW Bremma rims online with these dimensions:
Front:
18X8
Silver Machined Lip
5:112, 32mm offset
Rear:
18X9
Silver Machined
5:114.3, 35mm offset
Will these rims fit ok?
And will these rims have the same deep dish look like the ones I found on e-bay? I put the 2 links below...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
http://www.sportcompactonly.com/prod...4&c=100013&l=2
Also does anybody care to comment on TSW wheels? I found these rims for $199.99 each at the website listed above...this is the cheapest I could find them.
