steering wheel - wood or partially wood

Hello W203 owners,

I'm contemplating on replacing the steering wheel of my c320 for a while. Apparently, there aren't too many choices in the market, but there are two types I'm thinking of. (I'm not thinking of sports type like with carbon fiber, etc).

1) Only the inner part of the wheel has some wood. The outer part has leather.

2) All part of the wheel (at top 1/3 or so and bottom 1/4 or so) are wood.

Unfortunately, they are sold with no return policy, so I can't try them to see which type I like. I like the way 2) looks better, but am afraid that it might show finger prints too much or even become slipperly when my hands have moisture. I'd like to avoid anything that looks good but has questionable practicality..

Any comments would be appreciated!

the steering wheels with wood inserts feel the same as the leather steering wheels and do not have the disadvantages of the "full" wood steering wheels (1-too hot in the sun, 2-too cold in the winter, 3-too hard to hold)

I myself wouldn't want a "full" wood steering wheel but do like the SLK steering wheel with wood inserts in my SL

greetingz,
steve,
what are the cost differences between the two.... inserts vs. full?
I guess what im asking is how much do you sell them for?

Thanks
Charles

i like my wood insert steering wheel (got it from steve)...
price is much less compared to full wood.
plus, it's OEM (full wood is by mp design or custom)...

MP design's full wood one is 'round $650 + tax + shipping. Considering that a steering wheel is something you touch all the time and see all the time, I think few hundred bucks difference is negligible.
