W203/CL203 Aftermarket Exhaust Thread - All you want to know
Headers and the "center exhaust" piece are already available for the C230K (#843901 and #843303 respectively). They also have a section to replace the cat for the enviornmentally unfriendly, #842502. I'm sure these others pieces were developed for the older cars using the M111 2.3L motor, and the need to design the rear muffler specifically for the Coupe is why it's not available yet.

yes that was my car in last month's makes and models... although I don't have headers and highflow cats, I told them i was planning on them... guess they just through them in there, but hey, at least they gave me the biggest layout in that section, lol!
I realy dont think that the headers are for the coupe, I think that the wont work unless the alignment on the old 230k and the 230k coupe are the same does anyone know if im wrong?

When I mentioned the shorter delvelopment times, I meant that the runner lengths had already been worked out to maximize exhaust gas extraction and flow. Not that the parts were exactly the same.

I have been looking into this for my C240. I have found the following:
- AMG is a muffler only, requires cutting existing pipes and welding on this new muffler as well as modifying the bumper skirt. It is $640.
- Eisenmann is a muffler only system, weld on, modify the skirt. It is about $600.
- Brabus is $1500. That is where I stopped.
- Super Sprint seems to really engineer their systems for true performance gain rather than just sound. They require no welding and no bumper skirt mods. They sell a muffler and resonator as separate pieces, clamp together. The down side is that it is about $950 system.
The major bummer of all of this is that a customer cannot hear or feel the differences without buying and installing the system. They should post .wav files of the exaust note and graphs of HP increases on their web pages.
All of that said, I am going with the SuperSprint when it becomes available in Feb.

Also, anyone knows how the AMG muffler sounds? loud, deep? =)
well, on my car the exaust is deep and loud, but the s/c still top that. I not sure about just the AMG rear muffler will make what kind of sound, since c32 has different stuff from head to toe.
oops...sorry
I want in too dang it.
BTW i was @ Life plaza friday night (last night)...my girl wanted to take those baseball card picture thingy....i went around trying to find your car, but no luck. :p
I heard that Eisenmann Racing exhaust sounds deep and loud (thanks "Petie" for the info!).. does anyone compared AMG muffler w/ Eisenmann? Which one is louder??
the Eisenmann is definitly louder than the AMG.
Why can't you adjust exhaust volume from inside the car? On Harley's there's a company, SBD (silent but deadly) that makes such an exhaust. There's a valve in the muffler that opens it up for really loud cruising or have it closed and it's like stock.
speaking of exhaust, what's a velocity stack?
An extreme example from a McLaren Can-Am car (those red things sticking out of the motor in the back are velocity stacks):
