Could someone please post before and after underside pics? Preferably with enough detail to see the flanges @ the resonator and how the new muffler and replacement pipe attach afterwards.

But I'd settle for how the new looks - I'll crawl under for the before if need be.

Thanks much.

Getting more and more confused about the soundpipe.

Guess for $30, it's worth just getting theirs. Is the diameter between theirs and the stock C7 one the same? Quality the same?

Here's what my 83mm Eisenmann looks like. I don't have the extra resonator whatever that is... On mine we cut off the old one and bolted the new one in place. Bumper trimming was needed too. (about 1.75 inches)

Anyone have any pics while car is up so that the plumbing is more visible?

Here are some pics, the camera wouldnt take pics under the car, the flash wasnt strong enough to illuminate.

Here is the resonator eisnemnann included in the exhuast box along with a sound pipe.

This connects directly to the center pipe in the car, you unbolt the full rear section and put this piece on, then the rest of the eisnemann ( 1 other piece of piping with the muffler bolts to this "resonator", or in my case the sound pipe. both are the same length, and you can only use one or the other.

Here is an underside picture of the muffler. The muffler has about 3 feet of piping attached that connects directly to the resonator or the sound pipe your choice.

Here you can see that it is all one piece, no clamps except the one that connects it to my sound pipe.

One last pic, not suire if u can see it or not, but this is the muffler section pipe connecting to the soundpipe, and you can see the cat right in front of the whole assembly.

So in conclusion, i guess if you want you can cut the stock exhaust, but eisenmann gives you all you need to just bolt it on no cutitng. Those who wish not to invest in the 30 buk sound pipe and have the C7 package I think can cut and clamp it, but im not sure if the piping is the exact same diameter? And the end of the sound pipe is smaller, as to mate to teh eisnemann larger diameter exhaust pipe.

Now that I posted all the pictures, everyone left the thread LOL

What do you all think? I used to own a remus with better quality tips, I think the eisnemann is a winner tho...

NO CUTTING

I was just recovering. The underbody pics got me a little dizzzy. The exhaust looks great! Any closer and you'll have to break out the KY.

looks great man, congrats. i will be stepping up to an eisenmamm soon, and get the shop to nake custom quad exhaust piping. my only concern is this, maybe you can help me out. if i use a straight pipe, will i pass emissions (im in Canada) or do you think i'll be okay. also, how much sound increase do you think it has compared to their resonator (10%)???? thanks.

The replacement sound pipe is stainless steel. It will fit a 2003, no changes have taken place in the exhaust system.

I was just hopin that everyone is clarified now, I didnt belive it myself that it is actually a cat back, others have said you need welding, but thats not the case apparently

I just crawled under both my 2003 C7 and my girlfriends 2002 C7 to look for exhaust differences.

Here are my findings. They are different (i.e. not interchangeable) from the engine to the joint under the rear passenger seat.
The 2003 has a cat right after the manifold with O2 sensors before and after. Then there is what looks like a second cat in the same location as the only cat on the 2002 except this possible secondary cat on the 2003 is smaller and has not O2 sensors before or after. Then there is the joint after which things look interchangable between the 2002 and 2003. As someone else recently noted the 2003 C7 still has a resonator.

2003 w/C7
||==(O2)(cat)(O2)=||=(cat)==||=(Resinator)==(Muffl er)->

2002 w/C7
||=======(O2)(--cat--)(O2)=||===========(Muffler)->

Eisenmann 2x83mm Problem

I have the Eisenmann 2x83mm race exhaust on my coupe. I put the exhaust set up on a few months ago, but have only driven the car a small amount since then. I noticed the other day that the area of my bumper around one of the tips is melted and discoloured and curled out. I did not trim the bumper much when I put on the exhaust and I guess it is just way to close. Fair warning for anyone who does not trim there bumper enough. Around the exhaust pipes my bllack car has been discoloured to a white/gray. O-well I still love the exhaust and I will get a body kit soon.

are these quad exhaust any good?

I found a fairly cheap quad exhaust for the W203 at performance products while strolling around the web. Can anybody tell if it's any good? It's made by weltmeister and it's 530. Check it out here.

http://performanceproducts.com/Produ...producttype=20

also found a K&N filter for 1.8 engine. I don't know if it's new or already there.

I have the Weltmeister quad tipped exhaust on my car and I love the sound! I believe the dual is $530 and the quad is $895. Bought mine from Performance Products and the rear valence to go with it.
