2x83 looks really good on the car. I will post some pictures of the 2x83 and the bit of the bumper that is melted. I have to wait 2 weeks until I am back home to do this.

I'll post pics soon, as I will be getting my wheels soon as well.
As far as sound I haven't heard anyone else, but I had a Supersprint exhaust on my BMW and it's definitely louder than Supersprint.

I have not heard the Greddy exhaust, but I have heard several different exhausts on tuned audis. This exhaust is considerbley louder than stock, and most likely too loud for some people. I like it- you can always tell when you are on the gas. I have the sound pipe with mine, but if you wanted it quieter I guess you could keep the resonator on

R4ND0M_AX3 got it right, they do not look interchangeable. The 2003 pipes also looks larger. I posted pics, my Coupe with C7 has a resonator.

I have seen to many shops "fit" a smaller muffler to a larger diameter inlet pipe. Not what we want to pay for.

Another Exhaust Question

I am new to Mercedes Benz so this is probably going to be stupid question. Why is an exhaust system or just a muffler so expensive? Because it is a MB?

This is my first Mercedes, but I have owned cars and trucks that I have put dual exhausts on, some stainless that didn't cost as much as I see some of these systems cost.

I don't understand why I can't buy a muffler ( alot cheaper than $800 +) for a Mercedes and custom bend pipe where needed. I could fabricate the pipe(s) for single or dual exhausts.
Why wouldn't that work.

Seems to me the muffler would be the hardest part to find. Pipes can be bent to fit any conditions.

I have a C320, I plan on looking into and exhaust system for the car. I will let you know how it turns out.

I can't see where this is sooo hard.

You're from South Park?

I know almost nothing about mods, but the exhaust prices surprised me too.

Have you done a search through the forums? There are a couple other exhaust threads, and (iirc) some compare different systems.

Well, you just answered your own question, you can have a muffler shp do a custom exhaust and it prob would be only about $200 the most. There are alot of aftermarket universal mufflers you can buy cheap, and looks pretty good, just don't have the laser etching on the tips...

And yes, it is expensive simply because it is a Mercedes....

What I'm looking for is a muffler that sounds stock for my car. I'm not looking for a roar, just a stock sound. The new system will automatically give a few HP increase.
I think I can put on a dual exhaust for a few hundred, way less than a thousand.

The True OG Modded out W203
Impressions of my Eisanmann Race Exhaust

Well after a few days of driving around the city w/it I have come to the conclusion that it is really loud, especially in the low RPM's. It's been a while since I've driven a car w/an exhaust-so it COULD be me not being used to it. But yesterday I was driving in a pretty open road so I decided to use the touch shift and let it rev up to the high RPM's. It sounded soooooo sweet! I guess that is why it is the race version. It's probably meant to people that are used to a louder exhaust and rev it up pretty good. But first ticket I get for it, I will DEFINITELY get a resonator or something Sorry my digi cam doesn't have a sound clip feauture otherwise I'd post sound clips.

Eisenmann race, How to tell

How do I tell if I was actually shipped a race exhaust? Do the different versions look different or is there some marking that indicates what it is?

I'm just a little curious. I waited about 5 weeks to call eisenhaus and the first time I called them to check on the shipping status they told me "oh, it just came in today, we'll ship it out tomorrow". Not that it's not possible but I just want to make sure they didn't just grab any exhaust they had laying around just to shut me up.

I also thought the race version had a smaller muffler than what I have in my hand right now.

I think its hard to realize the difference. The guy told me that mine was a sport who sold it to me. But i dont think sport ones came with a resonator and sound pipe. Mine say eisenmann on the tips too, thats an option..

After reading abt sound levels, mine is much louder than what the sport could be based on comparison of a stock exhaust. Mine isnt super lou,d but yes it does have a drone at speeds above 80 on the highway and will get u a little nauseated if you dont have any music on. from outside the car its really growly and a dirty sound but i like it.

I think i got the high perfomrnace. There is a model number thing welded onto the muffler itself, but i dunno how to deciphere how this would correspond to the sound level.
