How is the Welmeister Exhaust compare to your custom one? if i didn't remember wrong, you used the muffler from a BMW right? what do you think about a set of true quad exhaust made with Borla or Magnaflow for C32?

w203 Supersprint exhaust for sedan or coupe or the same?

Hi,All.I got a supersprint rear mufflerfor w203(part no. 843368) off ebay month ago.Try to hook it up onto my m111 c230 sc.When i took my car to the local muffler shop. The guy who work there told that's not for coupe.the size is way bigger than the stock coupe muffler it must for 4dr sedan use only. I then go to SS north america web search for info.i choose 01 mercedes c230k.(http://www.supersprintna.com/produc...earch_model/202). The result shows the same muffler which i got.... Does SS web giv a wrong info or just because my muffler shop don't know how to put it on?Any ideas?Does anyone knows the SS muffler (843368)is for coupe use or for sedanuse?or they both share the same muffler? This my 1st time to post but a long time reader here.I appreciate for any input.

coupe and sedan exhausts are diff, the sedan ones are slightly longer.

that one, im not 100% sure but thats a sedan exhaust, the tips for the coupes are oval, like the stock ones.

i had the same problem .
but .ya
the fitting is wrong . and piping too
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=410

u have to get something like this .. the inlet and outlet has to look like that cause that is how ur exaust curves

I think I might know why, fitting the the Supersprint with the stock resonator, the hooks would not align the right way, you either have to make a custom piping and delete the resonator, or have the mufflershop put on a crappy resonator (or a straight piping system) since the stock muffler and the stock resonator is one piece

My reasonator has been replaced with a stright pipe already. The inlet pipe of the ss muffler will hit the rear axel while i try to put it on.which means the bent of inlet pipe is diff between sedan and coupe.Should i let the muffler shop to cut the inlet pipe then put on a customer pipe on it?will it work?

i'm guessing you need to do custom piping, as i said, this is a sedan exhaust, the coupe ones are smaller and the piping is different.

i'm not sure if "cutting" it would affect anything. good luck

yeap ur right frank, remus/sebring is german austria, and makes brabus exhaust.

as said in the older threads, eisenmann is not the BEST out, but is up there, and so is remus.

by the way, diamondblak05, did u ORDER ur exhaust? how long did it take? supposedly mine is being custom manufactured, and i've waited for nearly a month.

Anyone With an Eisenmann Muffler

Do you notice a burning gas smell after you drive a while and then get out of the car?
Anyone know what this could be?

Just wait till it breaks in. When I did the custom dual exhaust. I had a smell from it but then it just went away.

usually during the break-in period of the exhaust, it gives this weird smell.

Yes, but usually only after a pitstop at Taco Bell.

500 miles is too early to panic, I think. Mine stopped smelling VERY badly at a little over 1k, though it's still not potpourri.

Hello,

If money is not an issue, there are catback systems specifically designed for your car. I drive a 2001 C240 and didn't want to spend that much money on a part where i can use the money elsewhere (ie. coilovers, wheels, etc.). So in the spirit of being frugal, i went to my muffler guy who's done all my work during my rice modding days. He pretty much knew i needed a muffler that was at least 18" long and had a right side inlet w/a middle outlet. So he was able to fashion together a nice Flowmaster exhaust w/dual tips. I left the resonator in the middle intact because the droning sound was already prominent in the cabin. At idle, it sounds great.. nice low buzzing noise and when i punch it, it does have a nice throaty sound... not some cheap lawnmower sounding high pitched squeal. I combined that by changing the stock dual paper filters w/K+N's, and i'm happy w/the results.

Flowmaster exhaust + dual tips + labor = $190
K+N's = $100 (need 2 of 'em)

Happy modding!

MJ50 - Did you just add the rear silencer can and do nothing with the exhaust upstream??

Does anyone know if these muffler choices will bolt up to the '06 2.5 engine with similar results as MJ?

Ken, glad you were able to do a search and find this older thread, but it was from 1 year ago.

Either way, it's a good way to give people other alternatives, if they don't want to spend the $$$ on non-custom setups.

REMUS CAT-BACK vs STOCK VIDEO

ehh I drove about 5-600 miles this past 2 days, my journey to a town near boston, ma. supposedly it's "broken-in" but I think it needs like 500more miles. sound on the highway and inside the cabin...not really much difference from the stock. power wise, you can "feel" that higher RPMs have faster throttle response. not much of a difference, but ehh I like it! btw. heres a video of my stock with straight pipe and then remus with straightpipe. and also some pics. enjoy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sueB2hxgmz4 this is the remus

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaZGp06PXLE this is the stock with the straightpipe

the tips
