But the resonator is included. What is not included is the Sound Pipe that it's a pipe to remove the resonator.

Best Regards.

Taking out the resonator on mine increased the sound level slightly and produced a slightly deeper tone with more of a rumble.

How is this different than having an exhaust shop install a straight pipe in place of your resonator?...other than the fact that Eisenmann charges more for their pipe, of course.

The difference is the Eisenmann straight sound pipe has a flange that will bolt directly to the midpipe flange. Most muffler shops can also remove your resonator and weld a straight pipe as well, for a lot less money. I paid $30 for a muffler shop to cut out the resonator and weld a straight pipe. Welding is preferable over bolting it on since there's less chance of rattling or things coming loose.

Also, most muffler shops don't carry the three bolt flange Mercedes uses

c230_05,

You should fix your melted rear bumper while you're installing the straight pipe because it looks

Remus muffler installed but......

I just got my Remus muffler installed today. However, I have a question. Is it normal for the right side to hang a tad bit lower than the left side? The mechanic that did the install said it's the design of the muffler that is causing it and the uneveness of the bottom bumper, thus, he can't do anything about it. It still looks nice but for those true enthusiats, they'll spot it right away. Here's a pic of what I mean:

I was thinking of buying shorter rubber hangers. This may bring up the muffler and make it more even. Anybody out there have a sample pic so that I can compare mine to it?

The hanger is the hook that the rubber thing hooks on. It can be adjusted by loosening the bolt and bending it to the desired position. I dont have a real good shot, but here is my remus exhaust with square tips. I had to bend the hangers to get it centered and close.

Thanks for the pic and idea. I think that might be a better solution than buying new rubber hangers. Can you take a pic from behind and from the side? I just want to see how low and how long it sticks outside the bumper.

It is really all personal preference. Plus if the muffler is installed then you can just bend the hangers to adjust it left, right, and tilt. The amount that sticks out needed to be decided when you cut your stalk pipe and clamped the new one on.

for those with straight pipes

Hey guys, I just got my eisenmann straightpipe in the mail today and went to get it installed. The mechanic told me that "it wouldnt fit" and I asked eisenmann about the situation and they said that I need to cut out the stock resonator. I was wondering if those who installed the straightpipes, did you guys trim off the resonator and weld on the straight pipe (with or without a adaptor) Thanks in advance

I don't have the eisenmann straightpipe, but I can tell you that this straightpipe replaces the resonator, so basically, it needs to be welded where the resonator is currently.
