How is this different than having an exhaust shop install a straight pipe in place of your resonator?...other than the fact that Eisenmann charges more for their pipe, of course.

Also, most muffler shops don't carry the three bolt flange Mercedes uses
c230_05,
You should fix your melted rear bumper while you're installing the straight pipe because it looks

Most muffler shops can also remove your resonator and weld a straight pipe as well, for a lot less money. I paid $30 for a muffler shop to cut out the resonator and weld a straight pipe. Welding is preferable over bolting it on since there's less chance of rattling or things coming loose.

Remus muffler installed but......
I just got my Remus muffler installed today. However, I have a question. Is it normal for the right side to hang a tad bit lower than the left side? The mechanic that did the install said it's the design of the muffler that is causing it and the uneveness of the bottom bumper, thus, he can't do anything about it. It still looks nice but for those true enthusiats, they'll spot it right away. Here's a pic of what I mean:

It is really all personal preference. Plus if the muffler is installed then you can just bend the hangers to adjust it left, right, and tilt. The amount that sticks out needed to be decided when you cut your stalk pipe and clamped the new one on.

for those with straight pipes
Hey guys, I just got my eisenmann straightpipe in the mail today and went to get it installed. The mechanic told me that "it wouldnt fit" and I asked eisenmann about the situation and they said that I need to cut out the stock resonator. I was wondering if those who installed the straightpipes, did you guys trim off the resonator and weld on the straight pipe (with or without a adaptor) Thanks in advance
